Has the window motor been replaced? This is a classic symptom of defective window motor. Next time this happens hit the door panel, if the window starts working again that confirms the problem is the motor. This is not fool proof but in most cases the motor will restart, hit the panel down low a few times.

Official LRNA solution: buy a new module. I will be doing this tomorrow. I have been through this comprehensively with LR Dallas and LRNA. There may well have been other modules installed depending on when the Rover was built, but mine is not flashable. BTW, when plugged in, the dealer computer checks your Rover for updated software, which is downloaded from LRNA every night.

Check for vacuum leaks, and check the intake snorkle. Any unmetered air entering the engine can cause idle confusion.

The electronic park brake can jam, it can only be released with the dealer computer. The aftermarket Hawkeye tool by Bearmach has this functionality. It is well worth the price of admission if you plan on servicing the car yourself.

If it's charging properly, and the cables are clean and tight, your problem is likely the battery, which i am assuming is 5 years old now. If it's not charging 14 amps, then it's the alternater.
