Not sure where fuel filter is

it is located under the driver running board...,just raise the car and remove the lower batwing cover..you will see two ten mm bolts on both sides of the running board, then you will see 2 eight mm bolts, then three 10 mm bolts near the front. ..once its removed you will see the fuel suply line running upward where the drivers foot rest incline is and the fuel filter is just past the incline..make sure you remove the fuse in the trunk for the pump to depressurize it...good luck and let me know if you need any more help.

How do i get the lens covers off of the side

Usually they are installed with screws, if no then they have a tension spring clipping it into position, try applying firm pressure to the this side pushing it in a forward direction, or visa versa, a small scerw driver will help lift it ffrom the panel while you push it. Obviously do not use the driver to force leverage as you risk damaging the paint, place a rag under it just in case. Hope this helps, Good luck

I am trying to find the fuse for my windshield

Hi,

I have a 1999 XJ8. Same setup as yours, with very minor differences. I had the same problem, turned out NOT to be fuse, OR bad relays, OR wiper motor, OR Body Processor Module. It was simply a loose connection at the body processor module below the Glovebox. I Literally jiggled the wires, and it started working again, and has been ever since. I have the Shop Manual, Technical ability, and Tools available to test all of the circuits involved, and went forth with printing out the wiring diagrams, and step by step eliminated each, until I decided to give the connection a jiggle, JUST BEFORE replacing the Body Processor Module (which would have been expensive)

Test 1:
Try the jiggle trick. Should be able to access harness just below, and behind the left of the glovebox. touch around up there, but don't be a brute, as you MAY break stuff.

Test 2:
Check Fuse under hood, (#22) Should be a 30A fuse

Test 3:
Swap the relays located on the drivers side, just behind the radiator. One is for Wiper motor run, the other is for wiper motor high speed.

Test 4: Jumper Pin 3 & 5 on the LEFT relay (drivers left) (please remove relay first). This should turn the wipers on, regardless of whether or not the computer is telling it to run. If wiper does not turn on, check fuse, or replace wiper motor.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I cannot get my glove

Hi

The rule with the glove box is that you do what ever it takes to get the door open, there is no magic "fix". Look underneath and you'll see 2 bolts on the lower hinges, undo them and the entire glove box should come out. To open the glove box, the latch has to move straight down (toward the floor). Perhaps a pair of needle nose pliers can grab what's left and you should be able to open it with a bit of downward pressure. If there is still some of the plastic handle left, you should be able to get behind it with a flat head screwdriver and pull it toward the rear of the cab.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Adjust headlamps on 2008 Jag Vanden Plas

  1. Park your car on a level surface, facing a flat wall or garage door. Make sure the car is at a normal operating temperature and that the headlights are turned on.
  2. Open the hood and locate the headlamp adjustment screws. These are usually located at the back of the headlamp assembly, near the firewall. There should be one screw that adjusts the vertical aim and another that adjusts the horizontal aim.
  3. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to adjust the screws. Turning the vertical screw clockwise will lower the beam, while turning it counterclockwise will raise the beam. Turning the horizontal screw clockwise will move the beam to the right, while turning it counterclockwise will move the beam to the left.
  4. Adjust the headlamps one at a time. Cover one of the headlamps with a thick cloth or cardboard to prevent any stray light from affecting your vision while you adjust the other headlamp.
  5. Aim the headlamps so that the center of the beam is at the same height as the center of the headlamp lens. The horizontal aim should be straight ahead, with no visible lean to either side.
  6. Test the headlamps on a dark road to make sure they are properly aimed. If you notice any unevenness or misalignment, make further adjustments as necessary.
  7. Close the hood and enjoy your properly adjusted headlamps.
It's important to note that if you're not comfortable working with car electronics, or if you're unsure about any of the steps involved in adjusting your headlamps, it's best to consult a professional mechanic or authorized Jaguar dealership for assistance.

1996 Jaguar xj6 sunroof will not close you can hear motor running, how can you manual close it?

If you remove any gear that is coupling it to the motor you should be able to slide it back to where you want. I would put gear back just to hold it in place and keep it from moving. But you do have to replace that gearbox for future operation.

Where is the fuel pump fuse for 2001 jaguar vanden plas

if its a v12 or super charged vehicle it has two inside the fuel tank, only one pump if it normal aspirated, remove the tank and you will find the pump/s under the round panel on top of the tank with the fuel level sensor/ you will need some pipe release tools to get the flow and return pipes out of the bottom of the tank, a bit of a pig to get to has they are under the vehicle above the differential, but have self sealing valves in the bottom of the tank so you dont get soaked!
