sounds like ignition barrel to me.

With the age of the car it could be that your grounds are bad somewhere which explains why essentially no lights work ... even though the bulbs/fuses are OK. You get power to these lights by having positive wires going to the light bulbs and the negative side of the circuit coming from the frame of the vehicle (referred to as the ground). Pull all the connectors that you can see and make sure they are not corroded. Check also that no associated relay that has anything to do with the rear lighting is not bad.

It almost certainly will be the switches unless you have a broken wire in the loom. There is a cheap piece of kit available on the internet called an op-com that will read these cars including the roof, that will give you fault codes and live data to see exactly where the problem lies.

Check fuses and relays first. Then check the wire connections at the motor. Sometimes the plugs get corroded and just need cleaned up and put back on.

the gear box on a auto has a switch in it that has to be in neutral to start engine this wears out. as its used alot. gearbox screwed up please explain. thanks

Did you check the oil. It has a low oil shut down feature. Below 1 quart low, ignition is disabled.

Could be the thermostat stuck open

Turn it off. If that does not work cover it up

Look for a test port on the fuel pressure regulator. It will look similar to the valve stem on your wheel where you add air to the tire. Connect a test gauge there..

What is the code?

Is the alarm going off ? If so none.

Check leads are firmly connected on battery. New batteries have been known to be faulty. Needs power for locking door.

Convertable not so fun when the top doesnt operate? Haha. there is such a thing as a trunk lid sensor. Although I dont know where its located, its a good place to start.

Cannister is probably full.

Fans come off and on based on a thermostat usually installed on the radiator. Follow the wiring from the fan to the thermostat. Test by heating and an ohm or continuity meter.

Contact the manufacturer, give them details of the vehicle, Chassis number, reg number and proof of ownership, they should be able to supply the code.

First check the Brake fluid..(yes brake fluid) This is where the SLAVE CYLINDER gets its fluid from. The slave cylinder has soft rubber seals that can go bad.Another thing to remember is the reservoir Brake fluid should only be dot4 fluid if any other brake fluid was used it will cause the seals to go bad and a new slave will have to be installed.
