there are 2 large terminal plugs with the wiring for all the instruments that are plugged into the back of that panel. make sure they are snug and in place. You reach in and under but it may easier to "simply" remove the cluster. 4 screws hold it in place accessible form underneath and with a long phillips screwdriver and lighting.

I have had a corroded rotor or badly worn contacts inside the distributor cap. Lightly sanding takes care of that and making sure the wires are all tight to plugs.

if your car is the xj40 model the lighiting logic module is under the fascia close to the lighting switch but i think the problem is more likely to be a earth problem or simply the bulbs the twin headlamp car has one twin filament bulb on the outer and one single on the inner so if both main beam filaments fail thats what will happen

same as mine just put key in ignition and start it ands alarm will go off .i put mine down to the fact that its a show car so its left in garage with battery disconnected .

Go for the jag ,motorway cruiser with a toffs interior ,i have one and its like a dream when iam on the motorway,110mph 5 people and it kicks down and pulls like nothing else ,it just purrs like my cat

I had the same problem! All you do is call your closest Jaguar dealer and give them the serial # that is under the radio(so you have to remove the radio) they did it over the phone for me and they will give you the code, it's usually gonna be a 1- 6 combo cause thats the numbers for programming if you notice.

if its stuck in park the most likely cause is a faulty brake pedal switch, you can release the shift lever if you unscrew the little star shaped plug near the gearshift and insert a small screwdriver or similar to manually release it. also sounds like the gear selector cable may be out of adjustment it will not start/crank if the switches on the gear lever (jgate} and the gearbox switches are not in harmony with each other. hope this helps.

1994 ?? same as mine and you just lift the flap and unscrew the cap ,,,sure its not a 2004 ,safety back up cable inside the boot
