1992 Jaguar XJ6 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I have a 1992 xj6 3.2 Auto, started fine yesterday
Well fer a start ya can't jump start an automatic, only a manual. Now Jags are notorious for this kind of behaviour as they are pommy cars and we all know what the poms are like, so any way remove one or two spark plugs an git yer sel some Aerostart or similar an give it a good squirt down into the cylinder head, screw ya plugs back in, connect ya leads then kick her in the guts and vroooom yer of and runnin again..

Hot and cold air simultaneously when A/C is on
U need to find out exactly what the issue is. Is the compressor turning on? If so is it charged properly. If not turning on, is the charge low?
Evaporator is nothing more than a radiator - instead of water in it you have the refrigerant expanding in there and getting real cold and then having a fan blow the air over it. That is AC simplified! Removal of Evaporator not recommended unless it is proven that it absolutely has to be replaced because there is a leak in it. If no leak, leave the sucker alone!.

You would need to find out if you are loosing spark to the plugs or fuel to the injectors when it stops running.

My Jaguar XF is in
the problem lies with the level sender unit or the gauge, if they are replacing the whole gas tank you need to find another garage to take your money.

1992 Jaguar XJ6 3.2 litre:
Change all spark plugs. Replace the oxygen O2 sensor, then clear again all faults by disconnecting battery for a few minutes.

P1621
Trouble code P1621 means: Engine control module engine immobilization input circuit malfunction
The Transmission Control Module (TCM) contains various types of memory to gather and share information internally. At shut down, the TCM stores information in memory to prepare for the next ignition cycle. When the TCM cannot communicate internally, DTC P1621 sets. DTC P1621 is a type A DTC.
DTC PARAMETERS
DTC P1621 will set if the TCM cannot communicate internally for a proper shut down.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
The suggested repair is TCM replacement. Remember to program the replacement TCM with the correct software and calibration.
however Ive know loose positive battery cable to toss out that code, so check your connections

How do you remove the fuel tank from a 1992 XJ6
Hi, you have to Jack up the car, and reach above the rear end , remove the 2 clips holding the fuel lines and give them a slight twist and pull. This will remove the hoses. Then you will have to remove the hoses and straps and wiring in the trunk, in order to remove the tank.

Remove fuel tank scrap and
If the tank is pivoting in the center, then it might be hooked on the fuel line or the electrical for the fuel pump, and fuel gauge. You might try pressing the tank back up and moving the tank to the right or left to see if you can get the wires unhooked. Also some cars you can remove a cover in the trunk to access the fuel pump and to take it loose there.
