When trying to fill my gas tank it acts like it is full and if I press the gas trigger hard it spits gas back out. I can fill it but super slowly.
I recently had a tune up and I wonder if the fuel filter was put on wrong.
Alos, when at a low idle the car sometimes stalls out like it is not getting the needed gas.
Any help would be great.
I also notice this on my tiburon 2001, I find out that for a reason if I leave the keys in the contacts (even only at accessories), the problem occurs, but if I completly remove the keys while fillng the gas, no problem at all...

I have had my tiburon for 5 years now and have never had any transmission problems and then the other the day it was left out in below freezing weather and the battery died. Well i charged the battery and the car started fine and then when i tried to drive the car it started out fine and then when it shifted into 3rd it kind of jerked and then when it tried to shift into 4th it all the sudden downshifted and went from 45mph to like 5mph. I let the car run for about 30-40 min and then checked the transmission fluid and it was fine, so after it was warmed up i tried to drive it again and it did the same thing-downshifting. I have no idea what could be wrong it was perfectly fine i drive my car everyday and then all the sudden when it got below freezing this happened. Any information will help, thank you
Okay, I baught an 01' tiburon last march. When I first had trouble with the tranny it wouldnt shift into fourth and no it wasnt the overdrive button. Then it started downshiftling like what your experiencing then I lost reverse. Ammco rebuilt the tranny. I would take it to them, they will inspect it for free. You may just need a tran fluid flush. You should know that in the automatics the tranny is the weakest part of the car. The engines are great, just everything around them seems to fall apart after 120,000 miles.
Ammco offers a free inspection service. However Just from experience - if you need a new auto tranny it is cheaper to buy one already rebuilt (with warrantee) and pay to have it installed than to rebuild the one you have.
Cheers to hyundai challenge : )

My automatic transmission seems to be having problems shifting... thats the only way to think of for me to put it.
When I have the OD on(normal driving conditions) the car will shift from first to second, no problem. Second to third the car jerks, almost like if I were driving a manual transmission and didn't quite know how to shift yet. But once i get the car going about 30-40 mph the RPM guage goes crazy.... it revs up to 5000 rpms plus and sounds like I dropped the car into neutral and kept gassing it.
then when the car is driving with the OD off, shift from one to two is ok,second to third is the same as before, and third to fourth is damn near non-existent, the rpm guage stays at about 3000 and the engine sounds strained.
I did some research and found a consumer guide report that said if this is what your car is doing, change the pulse generator..... which mind you is damn near impossible to find if you live in BFE... so I changed it and it's still doing the same thing

how to remove bolts on water pump behind timing belt on 2001 hyundai tiburom
It is a 2.0L (the delta blocks weren't in tibs until '03). You have to remove the timing belt tensioner, and then you can remove the bolts for the water pump. I would strongly recommend not only taking careful precaution not to disturb the orientation of the gears in this process, but also to replace the timing belt and water pump at the same time. You don't want to go through this process all over again do you?

I have a 2001 Tiburon, my owner's manual says to use PSF-3 to replenish my power steering fluid. Can I use anything else other than PSF-3 P/S fluid? I have read numerous comments on the Internet .... use Dexron III, Automatic Transmission fluid, etc. Some people have said that PSF-3 is synthetic. Could you please help me. A few years ago I had one of my P/S hoses replaced because I was losing fluid. I have replaced about a pint of fluid, using generic P/S fluid for high mileage vehicles (91K miles on the car), in about a year and a half. The power steering pump is noisy ... sounds like bad bearings. Steering is responsive. I'm just wondering IF I'm using the WRONG stuff!
I doubt it is the fluid. I would guess more likely that the pump is going bad. If it is making a whining sould all the time or when steering at a stop, the pump is beginning to fail.

I took the lug nuts off of my tire on my 2001 hyundai tiburon but cant get the tire to come off. How do i get the tire to come off?
Make sure the car is on a good jack (not a bumper jack) use an old wheel and tire as a safety under the chassis if you must. Spray lube into the lug holes that go through the wheel and let it run down to the center hub. then use a sledge hammer, steel pipe or good baseball bat and give the tire (not the wheel) a good shot on the side. Nine out of ten times it will come off. If not, put the lugs back on leaving them about 1/2" from the wheel, put the car on the ground, start it and turn the steering back and forth.
Good luck

HOW DO I ADJUST THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON A 2001 TIBURON TO SHINE FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD.
The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly,
behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator
support.
You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam
(separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and
lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal
adjustment screws as well
Park
your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height
from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams
and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same
bulb, only do it for the lows)
For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then
aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall.
If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.
For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

Front Axle Nut torque
Most people don't own a torque wrench that goes past 150 lbs
& you can't push it that far
So if the nut was say 180 or 206 you have to stop at 140 & then
use a 3 foot 3/4 drive bar or ratchet & go another 1/8 turn.
Google the question,should be there
