Sun visor on driver's side won't stay up or all the way down. 2006 Sonata
Posted by k3writer on
This works on any visor. Obtain a small clamp as used in wiring harnesses. On the shaft end of the visor, 1/2 inch from the end, install the clamp around the visor and the shaft. Drill a hole through the visor for the clamp screw and tighten as needed. I might be a redneck, but it works!!

Firing Order for a 2002 Hyundai Sonata
Posted by pamountain... on
Since the 4 cyl engine uses direct ignition, here is the info for the V6.
Standing in front of the car, the cylinders in front are 2-4-6 and the cylinders next to the firewall are 1-3-5.
The wires on the coil are 1-4-5-2-3-6. The actual firing order is 123456.

h02s heater control circuit low bank 1 sensor 2 for hyundai sonota 2000
Posted by lreddy1 on
Here is a picture of where they are, do not be alarmed if your car is a four cylinder this picture is generic. Bank one sensor 2 should be after the cat in a 4 cylinder. But use the picture as a reference.

My car sounds like it is running harder or at higher rpm than normal just to shift, also have noticed the car misses when the rpm meter is not working. I have replaced all spark plugs and wires I'm at a loss here of what to do, nobody can seem to figure out the problem. I have a hyundai sonata 2000

I used to have a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse with the same symptoms; my mechanic replaced the speed sensor ($65) and the problem went away. Take the car to auto zone and ask them to plug the computer, they normally do it free of charge. If it is the sensor, you may have to buy at the dealer.

I had a low speed rear end collision in my sonata and know the car won't. The engine turns over but no start anybody know where the inertia switch is hiding i have looked everywhere i can think of
Posted by sandjbowse... on
Inertia switch is located in one of two areas, on the passenger side panels next to the toe kick by the radio. Or up under the dash. It will be a red button that you need to puch in

1999 model, it cuts out once per trip, always at low speed pressing on the accelerator, I hear the electrics go off and oil+battery light on dash just like when starting, it sometimes comes back to life after a second while coasting but if not then it takes a few minutes to restart when stationary.
I've replaced spark plugs but theres no change. There was a transmission fluid leak at the same time this started happening but that was fixed and the cut out problem still happens. TIA

I had the same problem with my 2000 Sonata a couple of years ago. It was the crank sensor and once replaced, it solved the problem.

I can't find the location of the crankshaft postion sensor in my 2000 Hyundai sonata
Posted by krazyeagle... on
My online Sonata manual shows these possibilities, but does not identify which applies specifically to 2000 Sonata.
Also, when you talk to the dealership parts counter, you'll need to know whether your 2000 Sonata is (a) 4-cylinder 2.4L MFI DOHC engine, or (b) 6-cylinder 2.5L MFI DOHC engine.
Its easy to tell - just count your spark plug wires.

I have a 2000 hyundai Sonata, 6 cylinder eng. My car cuts out while driving, usually happens once I hit 3,000 rpms, and won't go above 70 mph. Pulled codes on check engine light and had two codes come up; oxygen sensor and crankshaft position sensor. I'm told to change the crank position sensor first. How do I change the sensor??
Posted by talisha3a on
The sensor is located on the left hand rear side of the block (near the bell housing). It is held in place by a 10mm bolt. It's to the right of the exhaust manifold (LH - radiator side) on the V6. Once you purchase the new sensor you'll be able to identify it on the engine. The connector to this sensor is located in the illustration.
A word to the wise... replace the O2 snsr as well.
