1997 geo metro torque converter seal replacement
This seal is located in the front of the transmission. Its called a front input shaft seal. You will need to drop the transmission and remove the torque converter. Once the converter is off if you look at the shaft protruding from the transmission just at the base of the input shaft you will see this seal.
you can rent a seal remover from you parts store, IE Autozone or Oriely's and rent the seal installer tool. This will insure that you do not damage the seal housing or the seal when installing the new one.
One word of advice would be to take the torque converter to a transmission shop and have it checked before reinstalling it. If it has a worn seal face or has a bad set of blades you would be money ahead to replace it while your doing it the first time and not have to pull it back apart 3 months later.
Headlights keep flickering
Check the wiring to the headlight. Maybe where the headlight wires meet the headlight are loose. Sounds like a wiring issue.
Automatic Transmission 97 metro
Hi:
Specifically, you remove the transmission dipstick and use a narrow funnel to pour transmission fluid in the transmission till it is full. Remember to check your fluid level after the transmission is warmed up, and the car is running, gearshift in Park.
1991 geo metro intermittant starting
If the dash lights stay on and do not dim when you turn the key, (if the lights dim it's likely a bad starter) it could still be the solenoid on the starter (the + battery cable attaches to it) getting stuck, but there are a couple of other things to check. I would start (no pun intended) by putting a voltage tester on the stud for the switch wire (the small wire) at the solenoid and check if there is voltage to the solenoid. If there is, and the starter doesn't crank, it's likely the solenoid. If there's no power to the solenoid, I would trace the switch wire back checking for bad connections and then check the clutch switch. The clutch switch is under the dash aligned with the top of clutch pedal arm so that it is pushed in when the clutch pedal is pushed. It is a safety interlock to keep the car from starting if the clutch is out, but mine has occasionally not made contact. You can check it by using a DMM to do a continuity test when the button is pushed.
Turn signals dont work 97 Geo Metro
There is probably something shorting the front turn signal wires; the car is supposed to turn the signal light circut on and leave it on if it detects a burned out light bulb. The flashers, however, are supposed to work normally no matter what happens.
Hope this helps!
I got a 2000 geo metro and want to get rid of the
The belt for the A/C is its own belt, is it not? If there is nothing being driven by the belt besides the A/C, then remove it and you are set. If the belt drives something else, then you can take a piece of twine or wire and wrap it around the outside of the grooves of the pulleys of the crankshaft and the other accessory (the outside is to say where the outside of the belt would have been if it was there - the high part of the groove). Make a mark on the wire or twine where the circuit is complete and measure the length (or if you have a tailor's tape, just use that, laying it flat across and around the pulleys). Now take that measurement to a parts store and ask for a belt of that length. Make sure you take the belt you took off and give them it for width and groove comparison, too.
i hope this was of some help,

check your distributor cap and rotor button. look on inside and see if its burnt or nicked. also check your coil.
Gas fouls number 2 spk plug but everything checks
swap your plug over with one from another cylynder-if new plug in 2 still fouls then its not the plug its the lead or the distributer cap-check inside distributer cap for thin black lines runniing from one contact to another-its called arcing, you cant cure it ,buy a new cap
Alternator not charging battery new alternator and
check the connections on the battery/make sure that they are good, make sure the ground cable is attached to the engine.check where it hooks to the engine ground... they brake there becouse of the extreeme movement of that engine...check the terminal on the starter that is ware the return charge goes through. and on some of those cars there is a voltage regular (external) remember that on all cars there has to battery power to the alternator for it to work
1997 geo metro died while driving.
I had a similar problem with my 1987 ford escort. In this case I knew before hand what was going to happen. My water pump was going bad and loosened up the timing belt enough for belt to slip. Once that timing belt moves in position then things run bad and finally quit as mine did.
I am guessing this is the case for you also. I have changed out 3 timing belts on different escorts now, the first took about 2 days but the last took about 15 mins. The belt in my case only cost about 30 dollars.
Hope this helps
