unlock cable snapped. drill it out. or any locksmith can make you a key or find that cable (trace it) and get to the center wire and pull on that with pliers.. pop it opens.

parks is blown fuse. check (test) all fuses. or see schematic at alldata.com

most are at the top of the brake pedal, just look see it? bingo. that is it ,see the wires there? bingo 2.

easy if car runs, now one by one , do not mix order or bad happens,

on all tranny, made gaskets and seals., if bad , leak. the solution is obvious, no?

Hello Glen, Bad bad things can happen when you hook up a car battery backwards. If your car has a high quality electrical system it might only blow out one or two main fuses. If not, it can cause havoc on the wiring system and burn out the alternator, computer, sensors, modules, and stereo system to name a few.

why not post symptoms.? what engine, 1.6L or 1.8l or? 4a or 7a toy engine. there is no such switch. its really Toyota Corolla. my guess, it dont start? or dont crank and you didnt check fuses first. and the CEL dont glow key on or you failed notice the immobolizer is active? the fuel pump relay has 2 coils, one for PCM control and the crank signal. there is no inertial switch i looked at alldata.com at a 1.8L. post sympotoms and i can work it to the cause it only takes a $10 voltmeter, to fix most problems.

The fuel pump is located in the gas tank at the top of the tank. In order to change it you will need to lower the gas tank, remove all fuel lines and electrical lines and then there will be a locking ring holding the pump housing in place. Once you remove that instalation is the opposite.

its a 5v square wave.you can see that at alldata dot com.the 1996 will throw a DTC for CMP , DID IT?if engine is dead, the DTC shows up cranking,with a code or RPM dead.In USA< can speak for Canada, where are you, uSA or canada.

there is no limit to damage is it dmaged?if not, the side card must come off.remove knobs, remove side cards on door, and see mounts.you tube has like 1000 of vids showing card romoval, mostcars are same , my suz, you pull from bottom up, pop, pop, goes the friction rivets.then the rag trick for the knob (manual windows) clipif electric, see screws, some are hidden.my 04 has hidden screws behind the door lever plate.and in door arm rest.you could just RTM.http://www.scantool.net/software/alldata-diy-1-month-subscription.html

Sounds like the belt is too loose. It slips and the alternator stops turning and the light comes on. Look online on "how to" adjust the belt. Good Luck....should be a simple fix.

On the rim of the motor bell hosing. Close to where motor meet transmission.
