Xwhat deactivates asd system on 98 jeep grd. cherokee

my guess this post is , engine cranks ok, but wont start or only runs for 3 seconds. right>? why not post the symptoms first? huh? many things, will cause the ASD to drop out. what this relay does, is prevent fuel fires. and is part of secuity system if opted so there are up to 8 reasons, i guess you dont have a $9 scan tool>? and didnt scan the PCM cranking. this page is and all year 93 to now, integrated page. no need to worry that, only scan it, and see whats really going on. http://www.fixkick.com/Jeeps/ASD.html does the ASD relay pull in at all? or only 3 seconds cranking that be first to state.

Why is the only way I can get my Jeep to start is holding the gas down.

did you recently have a dead battery or any charging problems such as a bad alternator. if so that is what caused this, you can fix it your self by simply starting and holding your foot on the gas for 5 to ten minutes. this will let your Pcu or on board computer re-learn the proper throttle position to let the engine idle. If you have not had these problems it could be any number of things. a bad throttle positioning sensor being the first thing i would check. could also be bad fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, or fuel injectors. if there is a check engine light on go to autozone and have it checked for free. they will tell you exactly what it is.

Why don't liftgate window open when pushing button in

It may be a fuse in the main panel, check that first. it could be that the switch itself has gone bad, or it may have a wire that has come off of its connection on the back of the switch, could be as simple as a broken wire too, if it has more than one control switch, and only one wont work then it is most likely a problem related to the one switch that wont work it, remove it and test power to it then test the switch to see if it is letting the power go through when turned on or depressed.

I have a 1998 grand Cherokee Laredo with a 4.0 in

spark to all 6 cylinders' compression good is first. all 6 then spark x6, if PCM sees no spark? it CUTS fuel by DESIGN. (logic) the fuel. if you have spark, the test fuel works, "spray" ever get a full tuneup this decade or every 60k miles. no? well , now is the time, huh? spark good to all cylinders, NOT just one, pretend its 6 engines. dig?

What is code PT757 mean on a1998 jeep grand cherokee 5.2 v-8

pt, you meant p1757 that T is the key error here, its not a T so i must wild guess its a 1. 1 = factory codes, 0 = federal standard codes. P is power train. (7 is trans) i guess you never seen a FSM on a car? the factory service manual. it shows them all, and what they mean, and what tests must be done. ok ZJ, 5.2L so here is the free manual, why not read it. read chapter 25 called EMISSIONS. P07xx codes are transmission codes(you never said which one) page 7 is a bingo for P1757 in not sure which trans but at 0mph the governor pressure is above 0psi and above 3PSI. 0 is right, so is bad governor, i guess. the the governor , allows fluid to pass through it, above 0mph. as you go faster , more fluid and pressure , this pressure is what causes the hydramatic to shift to the next gear. ignore it, ? or pop in a new one. your call. Overheating 98 jeep grand chero kee laredo have

You need to either go buy a new thermostat, (because as always 3 out of 5 are bad off the shelf) so try a different one. Also you can try bypassing your heater core see if it happens again. if it doesn't it's your heater core...other wise your radiator may be bad too... Try the thermostat first though. Good luck,.

What does code PO351 mean

this means there are ignition coil issues. I don't have my book close by to give you detailed information on what else to check but it is an ignition issue that is causing the PCM to read a failed ignition coil, so it could be as simple as a bad ground on the coil a corroded connector going TO the coil and I have even seen a bad coil to cap wire trigger this one so if you have NEVER done a tune up, and have original spark plugs and wires you may be getting this code in error as well. Start by checking the plugs going to the coil and make sure the electrical connections are clean and solid, make sure the lead from the coil to the cap isn't arcing out anywhere, and the cap and rotor are good and not arcing out across dirt or soot on the inside of the cap, as this will show up as a bad coil as well. If this doesn't work before spending money on a new coil, pull some of your spark plugs (one at a time and put it back before pulling another) and check their condition. if they are bad, replace them with properly gapped plugs of the correct type. WORD OF WARNING Jeep engines do not care for copper or platinum plugs! Good old fashioned Autolite are your best bet in stock jeep engines. I have decades of experience with these engines, and the high end plugs Just do NOT work very long, so don't waste you time or money n them. when you are checking the plugs check the cables with a simple DVM (digital volt meter) set to the Ohms scale and check end to end for a reading. if you don't get one the cable is bad. you can get these meters for as cheap as ummm free with a coupon from Harbor Freight or without for about seven bucks. If this doesn't fix it NOW check the coil itself, using the same cheap meter, check across the input for continuity again using the Ohm scale if you don't get a reading the coil is bad. You CAN go straight to the coil and skip the rest of these checks, however, ignition coils are simply a special type of transformer, and transformers that are going to burn out on their own, do it early in their lives. those that last over 15 years generally have something that caused them to burn out, and in the case of ignition coils it is usually stress induced by lack of maintenance of the overall ignition system (this is where being an Electronics Engineer comes in handy). I'm 55 and been spinning a wrench since I was a kid when my father, who was a product of the Great Depression taught me REAL auto mechanics, as well as a host of other skills (I even know how to do lead body work. no bondo filler for me!) because he recognized the importance of self sufficiency.
