1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited. Steering wheel controls on the back. What are they for? What do they control?

It sounds like you need a manual. https://www.google.com/search?q=1998+jeep+grand+cherokee+5.9+limited+owners+manual Not sure what you mean as steering wheel controls always face the driver. There shouldn't be anything on the back of the steering wheel. https://www.google.com/search?q=1998+jeep+grand+cherokee+5.9+limited+steering+wheel+controls ..

98 Jeep Grand Cherokee, The low beam lights went

If your headlight switch is the type you pull out, left of the sterr column on dash, switches tend to go bad, I replaced mine and only had 50,000 miles. try checking headlight relay in engine fuse box first.

Hello, with all 4 wheels off the ground, engine

Unless you have a positraction rear differential, I'm surprised that even three are turning! Four wheel drive is really two wheel drive because both differentials are "open" type. In an open diff, only one wheel has power at any given time. With a positraction, or "limited slip" rear diff, both rear wheels push with fairly even force but the outer wheel is allowed to slip when going around turns. Only true four wheelers have either a limited slip on both ends or "locked" units but it is impossible or really difficult to drive anything like that on the street. If you hold the left front wheel from turning unless the locking unit is broken, the right front should turn.

'98 Jeep Grand Cherokee - My Heat/AC worked

The control for the AC/Heater door isn't working. To have AC the door has to close so that the hot air is not being blown into the car. When this door is closed it allows the cool air to pass through. This is either controled by vacuum or a ele. switch

Idle Air conrol motor might be stuck with dirt. Clean it with carb cleaner without letting the liquid to get into the device, then reinstall it. If this does not help, and if the spintle does not move when the key is placed in the run position, then the iac motor should be replaced.
