Finding the thermostat
Just follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine, where is connects to the engine remove the hose and the cover under it to expose the T-Stat. Drain about 1/2 gallon of coolant out before you start work. Bleed the air from the cooling system (refer to service manual for this year and engine type) after the T-Stat is replaced to prevent poss overheating.
Cooling fan stays on after turned off.
Well there is a coolant temp sensor that controls when the fans come on and off, if this sensor goes out or gives false readings this will cause the fans to come on prematurely, not come on at all, or stay on as your problem is. Also there is a relay in the main fuse block that may also stick and cause them to stay engaged. hope this helps, if you need more help give me a shout and will be glad to help you out......
Will not turn over or even try to turn over. has hot battery and was running fine until parked now will not do anything. also has a different chime alert

Probably the crank sensor, do you hear the fuel pump 'buzz' when you turn on the key (not cranking the engine, just key on)? If you do hear the fuel pump (only lasts about 2 seconds), it may be the ignition module, otherwise it is probably the crank sensor.
My ABS light keeps coming
I guess you haven't been around any cars since 1981,
some 30 years
You haven't heard of ON-Board-Diagnostic Systems,
that turn a check light on your dash, when a Govt Mandated
Emissions Problem arises?
The ABS light is a possible Braking System Fault
So from now on :
ANY DASH LIGHT YOU GET
Check for codes
Diagnose the system that set a check light
Resolve /Repair
Who does that you ask?
The guy down the street at the repair shop
Our battery went dead on
Whenever, you replace a battery, it is a good idea to have the alternator checked to make sure that it is producing enough amperage to run the vehicle and charge the battery.
Suggest you take your car to an auto parts store and ask them to test your alternator under load. That is the most likely problem, your alternator.
Locating of po430 code
this is an
obd2 trouble code table, it can help you understand the meaning of code.
for this code, you need
First, inspect for exhaust leaks.
Next step is to measure the voltage at the oxygen sensor on Bank 2. In fact, it would be a good idea to test each oxygen O2 sensor while you're at it.
1996 Mercury Sable LS
camber problem
hi.
the correct answer here is to replace both the springs. if one is compressed to the point where it affects camber, then the other must also be considered suspect, and both should be replaced so the springs are balanced on each side. then you need the allignment checked again.
on the other hand, the can is 15 years old, -1.50 and -1.51 do not seem to be too bad on a car this age, so if they think they can adjust this to fix it, it may be worth trying. if they cannot get the reading within acceptable limits, then you may have to replace the springs/struts, but both sides would need to be done together to keep the sides balanced. hope this helps
The piece that turns my belt broke what is that
The part that turns your belt is the crankshaft and crankshaft pulley. If you are right about the crankshaft being broken, then your engine will need rebuilt. But in most cases it is cheaper to buy a rebuilt engine from one of the professional rebuilders. Check with you local auto parts stores and they will be able to advise you on the best rebuilder to use.
The belt continues to break
Is the tensioner in line with the rest of your pulleys? Does it move back and forth freely? If not , replace the tensioner. Do all the other pulleys appear to be in line, and do they move freely? Hope this helps, TJ
