96 lexus ES300 is losing fuel efficiency, what would be the cause?
Check the spark plug leads and spark plug, it may be putting too much fuel in the engine and not enough spark or power to ignite it leading to lower economic driving, also make sure you get the timing checked as this can set it off.Make sure there is no black smoke coming out of the engine. It will be losing a slight amount of power from somewhere where it is either combustion related or even something simple like the aircon unit.Your not running with A/C on? this saps enough power from the car

This problem is about our new Bridgeton tires (275 60 19) on the front of our 2000 Lexus SUV (LX 470). After about 500 miles the right front tire is showing unusual wear on outside edge of tread. At
wear to the outside of the tyre could indicate to a tyre specialist that the car recieves some serious cornering g-forces. but if this SUV is driven carefully then that should not have happened. when driving down a straight flat road let go of the steering wheel for just a second (make sure the roads empty first) and see if the car wants to lean to the right. it could mean you may have a wheel alignment issue. wear the the outside can also be possible if you are running your tyres on low pressure for extended periods of time (also does not sound likely if maintained) but if that is so you should see wear on the inside . there is also simply the fact that that tyre may be a bad batch from the factory in which case the tyre fitter will exchange it under warranty if he thinks that is the case. but my money is in the wheels alignment.
My 1996 Lexus slows down after driving a short distance as if the brakes are on
take it to a brake shop and have it looked over most places do an inspection of your system, It's worth it lexus is after all just a glorified toyota and they are having their share of recalls also. But it sounds to me like a cylinder in leaking or is at the end of it;s travel . which means your brakes are worn out. get it fixed! your life is on the line and maybe somebody else's if you drive it
Water dripping from exhaust
Most of the time water dripping is normal. The catalytic converter "converts" exhaust gases into water vapor. The exhaust system also collects moisture when the engine is off.It depends on how much water and when. Are you adding coolant to the radiator ?
My 1996 Lexus ES300 ac blows cold for a while then
There are a number of possibilities.1. If the compressor has a clutch, do you hear it engaging and disengaging? 2. The valve controlling the hot water going to the heater which mixes warm air with the cold air from the evaporator, is not working properly so it si not maintaining proper temperature.3. THe temperature sensor that senses air temp at the intake to the AC in the cabin is defective.4. THis is too comlicated to fix yourself, so you need to take it to an AC expert who knows this particular model.I have 2000 ES300
