NEW BATTERY, NEW ALTERNATOR, ENGINE WILL CRANK BUT NO FIRE.
no engine option size stated, so i wing it..(generic is harder)
ok battery changed, no need for jumper cables now.
engine cranks robustly.
so no fire, i hate to tell you that word means (NOTHING)
there is fire to each spark plug (tip spark = fire) then there
is combustion fire , a goal on all cylinders.
so use the word spark , you then check spark at all cylinders.
please.
if spark is gone on 1 cylinder work that.
if spark is gone on all cylinder we then scan the ECU.
RULE 1, no EFI car , runs fueling unit (IT) thinks(sic) there is spark (3 way checks) this is Crash and fire protection on call cars.
most books fail to say this very important feature in all modern cars.
so that is why spark is 1st. never ever done last.
you crank engine for 5 seconds.
release key, not off. the key yet.
and the scan tool, shows P0340/355 or any codes relate to spark
CMP./CKP ,etc.
and the rpm shows 250RPM cranking, yes,the scan tool can see
RPM cranking and is a TOP check , missed by many noobs.
so now you have spark
on all cylinders.
we cross fingers #1 is good, 150PSI compression on all cylinders, min.
and blame fueling.
A: is it flooding or starving???? the spark tips (i bet its tunedup, huh)
are dry or wet.
B: more later if you get this far.
just oneline says it. for 100 years now. (otto cycle engines)
(cranks ok, compression good, spark good x4,x6, fueling last)
