Is there a way to repair the fuel lines in the
Hi,
Thanks for using Fixya.
You have quite a problem here... there are currently no replacement fuel line parts for a 1988 honda accord. What you can do right now is to visit a local car junk shop and find yourself an accord of the same model. You'd probably spend alot of time doing this but this is the only way. Best wishes.
Thanks and have a nice day.

Check engine light comes on intermittently. Code
If you are secure that the repair was done correctly, pull the 7.5 backup fuse (with the car turned off) in the under hood fuse box and wait 10 or 15 seconds before putting it back in. That should clear your engine light. You will have to reset your clock, and any selected radio settings.
If you do not have an anti-theft radio, you could simply disconnect the negative battery terminal for 10 or 15 seconds and that would do the same thing, but if you have an anti-theft radio that would require a code reset, meaning that you would have to have the five digit code.
If the engine light comes back on after the reset, then something has gone wrong with the repair.
Hope this helps.
My 1988 Honda Accord lxi always turns over strong.
if you already replaced the main relay seeing this is the most common problems for a no start with this car then your disturbutor is the next most common component to cause a no start. there is a sensor in side of it that is not replaceable that is called a crank sensor and it monitor the crank shaft and if there is no singal from that sensor to the computwer thwen it will not spark or get fuel in injected.
this is the most common issue besides the main relay and replace alot of them in the shop. if you have a multimeter and know how to ready ohms and do other basic test then when it is not starting and only when it is not starting you can test it. if you have a fax i can send you a diagram and instruction on how to test to make sure it is that seeing it is expencive. but ost likely your problem. has all the same symtoms as one.
let me know if you have a fax and i can send them tomorrow. give me the fax number.
please ask any more question you have and let me know if you need more help.
Where3 is the pcv valve in an 87 accord
it is rubber mounted in the top of your valve cover with a hose leading
to your intake manifold very easy to find and change it is generally
black in color with a 7/16 hose just lift it out of the rubber mount
remove it from the hose and install your new one in reverse order and
your done
Have a knocking noise in engine and white smoke
The white smoke is from a blown headgasket, your coolant is leaking into one or more cylinders and that's actually steam that you see coming from your tailpipe.
When this happens, your coolant level drops (because it's pumping it out the tailpipe), your car overheats, and of course it will knock as it overheats. An overheated car is sluggish, as well.
Another bad thing that occurs by driving a car with this problem is that the coolant is washing the oil off your cylinder walls and your rings will tear up your cylinder walls as they self-destruct.
Head gasket replacement is not an easy fix nor is it cheap, and usually you'll need to get the head machined to make it perfectly straight again - heads warp from overheating. A good mechanic can do a head gasket replacement in a few hours.
Overheating can cause knocking.Your best bet is to replace your motor because usually the knocking noise is caused by a spun bearing which would cost a lot to repair.
How to remove 1988 honda accord exhaust system????
you will always want to make sure the exhaust system is cooled down. some simple guidelines are to start from the back and work your way forward. use some type of penetrating oil (WD-40, etc...) on the fasteners to make the removal easier. make sure you use new hangers, clamps and gaskets when installing your new exhaust.
use anti seize compound on the threads, and make sure you get proper clearance to keep from damaging the interior due to overheating.
Best of Luck!
Engine speed hunts on idle. Auto trans slow shift.
The fast idle valve is inside the throttle body. Sometimes it backs out and needs turned back in (it's threaded). This will cause the loping idle.
Get transmission filter changed with new fluid. Honda does not recommend transmission flushing.
I changed the fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel
well you can check the injector pulse with a noid light and if no blink then you can assume that the injectors are good then you can either go after the pick up coil and make sure you have spark through the wires but if you have a blinking light then you lack something else you need three things compression fuel and spark and it will run hope this helps oh most important check all the fuses and relays
Had alternator changed but car does not start key
First check your battery and make sure that it is fully charged and that all your connections are clean and tight; a battery can be damaged by a faulty alternator so even if it is relatively new it should be checked. Secondly check fuses and any relays for your ignition and starter. Thirdly you might have gotten a bad alternator or the re-programming of the key and chip was not done correctly. Hope this helps. Good luck!
