Radiocode frozen volvo v 40

Remove radio from central console (press two thin vertical buttons on both sides of it). Read and note a radio serial no. on a sticker on radio metal cover. Contact local dealer and give them the number. They will resolve the code for you. Some dealers take some fee for that kind of service. You must ask before.

Abs light comes on when driving above 60 mph but brakes work fine in my volvo v40

Brakes always work but ABS may be not functioning. This is probably to be repaired by experienced repair shop. Brakes are too serious to make experiments by yourself.

Wipers make poor contact on V40

Check if the axle is perpendicular to the glass surface. If so, replase the arm because the spring is out. Are you sure the blade is OK? You can mount a 21" blade to left and right side.

Fan switch

Remove the cover (I use an old CD, not a screwdriver to not scratch any surface). You'll see screws to be removed and the whole module goes out. The light bulbs are mounted from back using flat screwdriver. They are specially designed together with plastic ring and available at the dealer (they're quite expensive). But it is possible to disassemble the ring and replace only glass bulb that is available in electronic store almost free (in Poland about .25 euro). Many people replace bulbs to LEDs. You can do it or buy needed parts in some car-tuning shop. LEDs are almost endless.

I have a 1999/2000 volvo v40, a green dashboard light has come on, looks like a clock but the hand is outside, looks to be pointing at the 9 or 10, any idea's, iv'e lost my book!

That's the cruise control. Green symbol means that it's enabled. There is a double button on the tip of turn-signal switch. Pressing plus or minus freezes current speed and you may apply some relax to your leg. A speed tuning is possible using this button(s). There's also a switch that disables the feature. If you are forced to slow down or stop, you may run the car again and restore previously set speed using "Resume" function on this switch. Cruise control switches immediately to manual control after touching the brake or clutch pedal. Cruise control doesn't work at very low speed and is not recommended in streets woth heavy traffic.

No fuel getting Ito spark plugs

If no fuel is getting to the plugs the inyection system is not working. Check for spark in one spark plug. If you don't have spark that is the reason why the injection is not working. When there is no spark, the ECM or injection computer won't work because it needs a signal from the coil, as s proof of spark..

Code p0234

P0234 DescriptionThe boost pressure sensor responds to pressure changes in the intake manifold. This pressure is created by the turbocharger and changes with accelerator pedal position (APP) and engine speed. The engine control module (ECM) uses this information to assist in diagnosis of the barometric pressure (BARO) sensor and to provide engine overboost protection. The boost pressure sensor has a 5-volt reference circuit, a low reference circuit, and a signal circuit. The engine control module (ECM) supplies 5 volts to the boost pressure sensor on the 5-volt reference 2 circuit, and provides a ground on a low reference circuit. The boost pressure sensor provides a signal to the ECM on a signal circuit relative to the pressure changes. The ECM monitors the boost pressure sensor signal for voltage outside of the normal range. The ECM calculates a predicted value for the boost pressure sensor. The ECM then compares the predicted value to the actual signal.Read more: http://engine-codes.com/p0234.html#ixzz2e2DssWbP

My volvo v40 has no power putting foot flat to the floor its like its stalling after half hour of crawling the the car would drive as normal, the only drives fine when hot

HelloThe Engine and Automatic Transmission (not applicable to manual transmissions) in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. Also always check fuel pressure for correct spec for your make and engine type.

Losing water.is there a water drain pipe that comes from the heating system

If you are not seeing a coolant leak on the ground, and you are adding coolant every week, chances are the engine is burning it out the tailpipe. That would be from a leaking head gasket or other internal problem with the engine.

Aerial

Thought i would reply to your lonely thread. I had to replace the aerial on my last 159 as it was broken when i first got it, i replaced it with a bee sting type off0 ebay didnt cost much was worried it might be a bit rubbish but turned out to be pretty good. As far as i can remember i managed to remove the rear end of the head lining (below the aerial) by popping off the two poppers holding the headling to the roof i then managed to disconnect the cable that connects to the aerial and undo what i remember was one nut that connects to the aerial thread inside car. The job was fiddly but only because i did not want to remove the head lining any more than i had to. but not difficult. without head lining in way it really would be a two minute job.Hope it helpsParts Of Bmw.

You need to be careful about buying a Volvo unit that has no code.

The reason for this is that many Volvo radios cannot be easily decoded using the serial number alone. This means that whilst it is possible to obtain a code it is going to be more involved and expensive.

If you post up the serial and part numbers of the radio I can give you some more specific advice as to what can be done with this particular unit.

Thanks.
