Trunk will not open !
The trunk lock is incorporated in the central locking system. This
means that you can either lock or unlock the trunk by means of either of
the front doors. You can also operate the trunk lock directly with the master key even if the vehicle is centrally locked.
Are you sure it is the Master Key? Try the key in the glove box lock. The power door locks should unlock the trunk for you turn the key if it is right over to the right turn it right over to the
left . you turn the key to far right to stop the boot been opened when
the doors are not closed.

How high do the RPMs go up? It could and usually is your idle air control valve(IAC). In the 940, it is not bolted into the intake, rather it bolted elsewhere underneath the intake and two rubber vacuum hoses connect it to the engine intake. If these hoses are ruptured, the your engine will rev up at idle. Also it could just be the IAC itself malfunctioning.

i don't have access to the owners manual in your glove box, but if i did i would surmise that the car is telling you that your brakes are failing and you need to get to a mechanic and have him look at it and put his hands on it before you have a nasty accident.
Fuel gage not working. Only a smsll light seen.
As long as the car is running fine it's safe to say the fuel pump does not need to be replaced. However the fuel tank sending unit may need to be replaced assuming the fuel gauge itself isn't at fault. First check your owners manual if available for your fuse block info and check fuses then I'd look into the sending unit. Let me know if you need help with that
On my 1995 Volvo 940 Turbo the oil light stays on
If all else is correct and the wiring to the sensor is correct and undamaged then the sensor has failed. It's not at all uncommon and is fairly cheap. I don't recall exactly where the sensor is located, but it's screwed into the engine block and has a single wire coming from it.
