The CV joint is going Bad. It's part of the drive shaft. Can get one for $60.00 to $80.00 at autozone . When do you hear the clicking sound , when making a sharp turn ?

How long has this been going on? You can drive a while with it clicking, but get it fixed sooner than later, in my opinion. Especially in the winter, the mud, water and grime will just make it worse.

On most front wheel drive vehicles, the front axles have what's called a CV joint on each side. These will go bad, indicated by the clicking noise you hear. This is usually due to the protective boot being torn and allowing the grease to be compromised by dirt and grime. It will not get better. It can get worse until such a time as the bearings fail and lock up.
How long it will last is anyone's guess, depending on the driving conditions. But I've driven quite a few miles on one with the worst consequence being the clicking noise.
The axles are completely replaceable, and this is a common maintenance item on front-wheel drive vehicles like yours.
Now that they're clicking, don't try to just replace the boots themselves...the damage is most likely already done.

Does the new coil produce spark if so then is there spark at the spark plugs, if not it could have a grounded rotor

1992 Volvo 940 | Answered on Jul 22, 2014

Recheck your wiring, check for voltage at the positive, when ignition is on, Check voltage at the HT wire from the coil, by removing the other end and hold it close to ground while cranking the engine, be careful.....check out your points and condenser.........if your HT voltage is ok, you may have other problem.
