I have attached a link with diagnostic info. Problem 5 Engine Cranks But won Start

The relay is located next to the left the of fuse box under the steering column. It is approximately 30x30x40 3 pin relay. Mr B

Good start, but be sure to double check the firing order? Looks like long plug wires? Also, did you replace the rotor in the distributor? Could also be a hair-line crack in distributor cap...be sure to add 2 bottles of liquid Heet to remove water from the tank...Hope this helps.

Possibly a bad fuse which is not allowing the power from your new alternator to make it back to the battery. Do you have alternator voltage making it to the battery when running?

Volvo did not make the 240 in 2001

You can get stop leak products at your nearest auto parts store. Ask them for suggestions about the best one for your vehicle.

Ignition module doesn't go bad often. If you are not getting spark I would check crank sensor first, they do fail often. If you have spark check fuel pump relay. That's another item that fails frequently.

My 98 said every 70k, my 2006 says every 100k. It's always better to error on the side of early though.

Go get a replacement at a wrecking yard.

Either the O/D solenoid or relay has gone bad. However if the light operates you may have to much wear in the main housing in the rear of the transmission causing the pressure to be low in the case a transmission replacement is in order.

I know this is old but if you haven't checked any of the "Brick" boards I would start there. Also, I use IPD, FCP and Tasca Atuomotive.
