My 1987 volvo 760 turbo will not turn over. it use to turn over and idle after i give it gas several times and then when driving it will be fine. but then it went to when i turned the car off for a m
i would start with a fuel pressure test and see if its within spec, the key on should give you a reading that you can compare with even if it wont start, if you can get it started then you should be able to get a running reading and compare it with the minimum recommended running pressure (that wont give you a volume reading though) ive seen bad pumps give a good pressure reading but couldnt supply volume) after that i would clean the throttle body with a can of throttle body or mass air flow cleaner, if the sensors in the throttle body get gummed up it will cause similar symptoms i found one that wasn't letting the butterfly close all the way and it ran bad! after it ran like a champ, but every car and situation is different . if it has a mass air flow sensor i would spray that off too but only with the mass air flow cleaner.once you do all that check all the vacuum lines. a vacuum leak will cause all sorts of problems, can check those by spraying them with carb or brake cleaner and listening for a higher idle when that area is sprayed. ive found broken and damaged vac lines after i sprayed them with no change in idle as well so try to give them a good visual inspection. (when spraying lines try not to spray the exhaust manifold as it could ignite) if theres a check engine light start there too first! , get the code and researchgood luck!also on a side note if there is a code please dont just throw sensors and parts at it, can get expensive fast and it might not fix the problem, research it! obd1 might not give you much info but it just might get you going in the right direction. also on a car that old the vacuum lines are probably in poor shape might be a good idea to just replace them all, even if it doesnt fix it, if you plan on keeping it i would replace all the vac lines, dont mix them up and go from there

The fuel injector on your vehicle not starting, When you turn the key on with the ignition on one side of the injector is ignition(+) the other side is controled by the ECM by grounding it.You vehicle is know as LH fuel system so start as the MAF (known as a mass air meter) you also have a thermo time switch. There is also a relay that controls the operating of the injector this is the suppression relay disconnect and reconnect this relay see if this will help you
I have a 1987 volvo
There are 2 fuel pumps. 1 is your main fuel pump and the other is the fuel pump sender unit in your gas tank. The one in your gas tank has an access panel into the tank from under your spare tire compartment in the floor. The main fuel pump can be accessed from under the car. Make sure to change the fuel filter as well. Hopefully this has been helpful in some way.
There is water soaking through
if you have a sunroof check the drains
otherwise you are probably dealing with a bad door seal

does this seem to happen all the time? can you feel it in your seat area? i would say check your u joints first. have someone in the car, foot on the brake, parking brake set and have them go from reverse to drive and see if the u joint on the drive line jumps. also check the transmission mount and engine mounts. the way you tell on the engine mount is, there should be still a black piece on the oil pan just above the crossmember of the engine. look at the spacing between the oil pan and crossmember. if its almost touching replace them both. let me know on the rear if this helped. happy holidays

Check starter connection. Mine does the same thing. Also check belts. A pressure hose could be unattached. Right above the starter there is a hose. Check all of them to make sure they are hooked up.

Accelerate and Dies?
Try the fuel pump relay.
It's a possible problem.
It's located behind the ashtray, on the right hand side.
Just gently nudge it or twist l/r, while running.
See what happens.

Thanks to all who helped on this issue, the problem was solved after I replace the Orange roung relay. under the ush trey, it controls the light out unit.
Headlight/turn signal problem
RELAY, NOISE SUPPRESION/is 1323592 its black and mounted under the hood on the shock tower, check page 4 and page 16 under LHB230FT in your book(item 464) ? why are you messing with this relay if you have a light problem ? does left turn signal stay on with key off /with parks only /with head lights /both front and back turns or front only? have you removed both frt and back bulbs together and ck voltage in sockets ?/wrong bulbs? i would need more info
