1987 Volvo 240 DL water
Oh my, it has been decades since I did one of those, but what I remember is that it is a simple bolt-up installation. I had no problems with the couple that I did.
As with any water pump installation, clean up the metal mating surfaces carefully so they are smooth and shiny before installing the new pump.
There are two spots that are prone to leak after you finish. One is the O-ring where the water pipe presses in to the hole in the back of the water pump. Make sure the surfaces are clean and smooth and the O-ring is in place and straight. The other place is the seal between the top of the water pump and the head. This one is tricky because there is no bolt that holds the seal joint tightly together. You put the water pump in place and put the bolts in just snug, then you pry up on the water pump, using the fact that the bolt holes are slightly oversized to move the pump up to press tightly against the head. While prying the pump upward, tighten the bolts that secure the pump to the engine block.
Good luck.

sorry but you will have to try the manufacturers on the internet as i cannot get carb parts anymore here in spain for the older cars .sometimes i can get the odd old stock repair kit but thats about all
Just recently replaced the flame
Probably. Next time you change your oil, you can try pouring some solvent such as SeaFoam down the hose and letting it sit overnight to see if it flushes through. Good luck.
Battery drains overnite
There are a number of things that can cause this including the battery itself. As they age bits of lead can build up at the bottom of the case and cause an internal short. Another possibility is the alternator if the diodes go bad. Try this next time you park it dis connect the battery, if it's dead in the morning when you reconnect it...time for a new battery. If you suspect the alternator, leave the battery hooked up and disconect the big wire at the back of the alternator. (it's the one that charges the battery) This same idea can work for anything else that might run it down, disconnect it, if the battery does not go dead you found what's causing it.

Hi, it is most likely a battery or starter problem, first try to jump start (even though you have a charged battery it still could be shorted), if it still wont start try tapping on the starter motor with a hammer while someone holds the key in the start position (a flat spot or shorted starter will usually start working in this case) if it starts you should change the starter. Worse case is that the engine is locked up and the starter is unable to crank the engine over, if the above wont work try turning the engine over by hand, using a socket on the crankshaft pulley bolt, if you are able to move the engine isn't locked up
Just replaced the alternator, now my battery
Hi
It sounds like you have left off the small earth lead or you have contacted some wires somewhere. go over the wiring again. what is quite common is a wire getting jammed between the altenator and the brace that holds it. most likely though it will be the small thin wire to the back of the alt, take a look at that first. also it could be a duff alt, check the main battery leads and earth wire to the gearbox also.
Hope this helps

It's possible that it's the fuel pump relay, bad computers or a host of other causes. The first thing I would do is to check fuses #'s 4 and 6. Rotate them in the holder as sometimes they get corrosion on them that hinders good contact.
You can put in a jumper wire from 4 to 6 and that should turn the pumps on and you can then start the car if the relay was the problem. Don't drive around like this as the pump will be on all of the time and it's not safe to have them in this state in case of an accident.
Head lights and brake lights not working
check power wire which runs to the brakelight with a test light, get someone to apply the brake on and off and see if there is power getting back to that point, if no power check the switch on the brake pedal to see if power is getting to that point.
also check the earth on the bulbs because they wont work if there is no earth
