Where in the heck is the blower motor resistor

Where in the heck is the blower motor resistor located on a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer Premier? Diagram?

The resister is right behind the 4X4 control module (if you have a 4X4). Open the glove box and squeeze the sides of the box in. It will drop down out of the way. You will see the 4X4 CM and it is well marked (assuming you have a 4X4 rig). The resister is the thing with an electrical connector almost directly behind the module. Before removing anything unhook the battery ground clamp. I can't remember for sure if you need to remove the 4X4 module to get the resister out. If so, the 4X4 module can be removed by undoing the one screw that comes up from the bottom on the bracket it is mounted to. No need to undo the two screws that hold it to the bracket. Undo the connector on the resister and remove the screws that hold it in place. Let me know if you have any other questions and thank you so much for using FixYa!

The BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH needs to be Readjusted, Simply Move it Closer to Pedal Arm to Adjust. There is a NUT that you must Turn to do this. If you take a Good Look at it it is SELF EXPLANITORY.
I Hope this Helps , Well I Know it Will as it5 is OBVIOUS as to what the Problem is. Have a Good Day

I want 2 change 2004 mercury mountaineer transmission fluid

is there anyway to change your own transmission fluid on my 2004 mercury mountaineer?

The best way to change it is to flush it out You can do it yourself, but I do not recommend. A shop that is good like a Monro or Firestone usually charges about 100 bucks to flush and that includes the fluid. If you do it yourself, you will save about 60 dollars, but you risk damage to your radiator.

you will need a hose and an adapter. you back out the lower, or upper cooler line for your trans, whichever is the easiest to get to, (Some trucks have an auxiliary engine oil cooler, but make sure you are flushing the trans lines) put the adapter into the rad where you removed the line, and put a hose from each one down into a bucket. Have about 14 qt's of ford trans fluid ready. Put the funnel into the trans dip stick, and start the engine. pour the qts into the dipstick tube while the old fluid is pumped into the bucket. When you have about two gallons pumped into the bucket shut the engine off and reattach the line into the radiator. start up the engine and check your level. Fill with additional fluid if needed.

note: some say you should drop the pan. two things, you only change half the fluid when you do it that way, and second if you need to change the filter because it is clogged, it is too late for the transmission. The filter is only there to protect the valve body, not keep the fluid clean.

Hope this helps

battery is draining,codes 9318,9352,d900, any help 2005mountainer

I have a 2005 mercury mountaiere, and something is draining my battery when it is not running.I had the starter, and alternater checked they were fine. The guy said it was electrical, but can find the answer .Now some trouble codes popped up 9318,9352,d900, Does anyone have any suggestions

DTC 9318 is a fault code for incorrect battery voltage. If the ecu is reading low battery voltage then regardless of what is happening at the battery or the alternator, the ecu will be undervoltage and all the readings from the sensors will likely to be misinterpreted. The othe codes are related to the voltage code. Inspect the battery connections and the TPS since that also controls the voltage regulator through the ECM. The other thing that can cause the drain to your battery is the battery it self, if it's past 5 years. The battery may have got to the end of it's life and needs to be replaced casue it can no longer hold a charge. The other common battery drain is the rear wiper motor, if the wiper was used. It's common for the wiper regulator may be worn and when the wipers are turned off and the wipers are in the down positon. The regulator may not regester that the wiper is where it should be and will keep the power on to try to bring it where it should be when off. This will drain the battery, try removing the fuse to the wipers over night and see if you still have the battery drain to check if it's and wiper moter or not. Good luck and hope this helps, but i am leaning towards a new battery if it's been in there for over 4 years.

where is fuse for tail light of 2004 mercury mountaineer

Im trying to avoid checking every fuse. Do you know the number or identification of the tail lights.

Tail lights. Not exactly sure if you may be talking about like the park lamps when you turn the lights on or if you are talking about the brake lights. I just want to be sure I am giving you the correct information. If you are talking about the park lamps and you are just having problems with the rear ones, then you are dealing with an electrical issue. Below is a the location of the fuse panel as well as a diagram of the fuse layout. I have marked the fuse that covers the park lamps. The thing is this would also be the front, side and the power to the head light switch so if you are having just rear park lamp problems, again it would be an electrical wiring problem. If you are talking about the brake lights, in that same panel fuse number 25 would be the one to check (not marked with an arrow). Both of them are 15 amp fuses. Hope this helps....
