What does the code P1670 on 2000 Volvo V70 mean?
A 1670 code points to the engine immobilized. In most newer cars the key contains a chip so if you try to get a copy at a locksmith the immobilizer will realize that the key has no chip and it will not stay running. You may have trouble starting the car if this problem persists. This one unfortunately is a dealer fix unless you are savvy with new ignition switches, airbag removal(if key is in column), and/or a little electronics backround. I am not sure if the immobilizer or ring is fused or not but good luck and I hope all goes well for you. No sarcasm intended. This is just one of those problems that adds to the fact that the days of backyard fixes are coming to an end. Not saying you can't correct the issue but sometimes jobs like this even require special model only tools. They sure have figured out how to make us keep coming back to them. I am pretty sure I got your code right and if I didn't, I am sorry, gave it my best shot
2000 volvo v70. no start.
probley a loose connetion on batter or a short in wire or try checking spark pluges and ground wires even the fuse boxs
Ets engine light
There is a problem with your Electronic Throttle Module. It was a common failure point on early 2000's volvo's, because they used an early form of "drive by wire", and the throttle body itself is no longer cable controlled (to open the flap). What happens is the sensor to tell it what position it's in eventually wears out. Good luck.
Coolant disappearing
If your coolant is disappearing most likely you have a coolant leak I would suggest going to a auto-zone or auto-zone like auto parts store and picking up a bottle of stop leak. You should then add it to your coolant and it can stop small leaks in your coolant systems. if this dose not correct the problem I would suggest taking it to a certified auto shop and have them take a look at it.
I hope this helped.
Thank you,

How to get AC to blow cold all the time on my 2000 Volvo v70?
You'll need to have someone check the refrigerant charge with a manifold gauge.
If the low-pressure side is lower than it should be but the high-pressure side is normal or showing higher than it should, your orifice tube may be clogged.
Seriously, start by having the refrigerant pressures checked.
Flashing yellow arrows
Wet button behind selector activated? If not oil type and level are critical
to Volvo transmissions. Given the age of your vehicle you may need to change it. Mobil ATF3309.
Engine sign not turn off even engine is running
If the light remains on there is a problem most probably with the environmental control systems. You need to get an Obd2 reader in the plug located in the center console an read the fault code.
Fuel pump relay
Should be located under the hood sometimes near the battery . Off to one side youll see a plastic box with a lid the pops off easily. On the bottom side it should tell you which relay it is. Not a fuse but on the same area. Theyre bigger than fuses and square
Battery drain problems

Sound like your power steering pump is going bad? Not necessarily...
I had a customer that told me their power steering pump was going out. They described the typical power steering whine and difficulty steering. When I went to verify the complaint, I discovered that it didn't whine or have trouble right away. It took a minute or two to actually appear. I had to do some research and what I discovered was that, while a typical vehicle would have the return hose connect directly to the bottom of the reservoir, in the volvo it connects near the top. Inside the reservoir, to keep the fluid from becoming aerated, there is a small, plastic, "L" shaped tube that connects to the p/s return on the INSIDE of the reservoir. In the case of the vehicle I was working on, this tube had popped off causing the fluid to become severely aerated. The air would enter the system (after developing from running for a short bit) causing it to sound like it had a bad pump.
So, if you suspect that the power steering pump is bad, check the fluid level first (as you always should) and examine the condition of it right after running it. The cap might be pressurized and pop off, which is a very good indication of the problem I'm speaking of. The fluid may pour out as well. In any case, if it's foamy, though otherwise at least filled to the minimum line, look inside the reservoir towards the engine side of it where the return line enters to see if you see either a black plastic tube running to the bottom or a beveled, metal tube that has nothing connected. If you check and see the latter, fish around in the reservoir for the plastic tube. You should find it and can likely pop it back on to the return tube. Bleed the system as you normally would and you should find that the problem goes away. Hope that helps!
2000 VOLVO V70 2.5 diesel (D5252T) cannot start with MAF sensor whire conected
Read the fault codes with the MAF sensor connected and it will tell you what is wrong with the sensor. If it is faulty (disconnected it is read by the cpu as such) then items such as injector operation. crank position sensor idle rpms accelerator position etc are all affected . The cpu system has to be balanced or the settings in the cpu will be out.
