2000 Honda Accord - Page 5 Questions & Answers
My 2000 honda accord ex wont start,
Is it a single loud click when you try to start it? Or multiple clicks or "buzz"? If it is a single click heard from the engine, your starter has likely failed. Test the battery first, and inspect the battery cables/connections for any looseness/corrosion.
Why does my Accord intermittently start and die?
Look at your tachometer, it should be at least 750 RPM...if you have a manual, look for the exact Idle RPM.
If the idle speed is too slow it can cause the engine to quit, sometimes even if you just step on the brake.
Hope this helps.
2000 Honda Accord EGR Valve Error P0401
Jason,
-after you change the part you have to reset/clear the code
-this can be done by either:
(1) using the OBD2 code reader that Autozone used OR since option 2 (below) is very quick
(2) disconnecting the battery for about 30 seconds (this will delete
all codes/radio presets/etc) but it will also clear the 'check engine'
code
-this is what I do AFTER i write down my radio station presets :)
-hopefully the new EGR valve resolves your issue after you CLEAR the code
...but that code just means a an insufficient amount of Exhaust Gas
recirculation (pressure difference) used to keep the emissions in check
-if it comes back, then there are a few other fixes to try also
-let me know if you need further assistance
-please remember to rate me `fix-ya`if it works
thanks
P2647 on Honda accord 2003 what is and where is located in the engine?
The code is for the VTEC(variable timed exhaust camshaft) oil pressure solenoid. If it is a 4 cylinder engine, the solenoid is located on the back of the cylinder head near the fuel injector rail. Most of the time you can simply clean the screen on the solenoid to cure the problem. Also, too heavy weight of oil can cause the system to malfunction. Make sure to use a 5w30 engine oil,Honda prefers Castrol.
Parking lights don't turn off
Check the light switch.....I think it is faulty! If you can remove the switch and disconnect the plug and the lights go off then replace the switch!
My car start but won't stay running.
If you replaced the starter & the car starts the starter is good. The reason when it will not stay crank could be multiple things. It could be your fuel pump, dirty fuel filter, bad plugs or wires, etc... See if you are getting fuel to your carburetor or check your fuel pressure. I'm leaning towards the fuel pump . I hope this maybe some help to you.

How to Diagnose a P0135 -Heater
Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1 (GM 3.5L)
January 31, 2012 Updated: October 29, 2014 Written by: Abraham Torres-Arredondo Article Id: 371
If your check engine light is on and you have a diagnostic trouble code P0135 stored in the PCM's memory... then you've come to the right place to test and troubleshoot the upstream oxygen sensor.
A P0135 DTC says: HO2S Heater Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1... and this means that the PCM (Powertrain Control Module = Fuel Injection Computer) has detected a problem with the front oxygen sensor's heater element or a problem in the heater's circuit (wires).
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to check the oxygen (O2) sensor's heater element and the two circuits that feed it with power (10 to 12 Volts) and ground with a multimeter.
In case you're wondering, where the oxygen (O2) sensor that the code P0135 is accusing of being BAD is... this bad boy is located on the exhaust manifold and before the catalytic converter.
To help you navigate this article, here are its main points:

Scan Tool.
- Don't have one?... check out my recommendation: Abe's Scan Tool Recommendation.
Wire Piercing Probe.
- Although this tool is not an absolute must, if you do buy one, you'll realize just how easy it makes testing the voltages inside the wires.
- If you need to see what this tool looks like, you can see it here:Wire Piercing Probe.
