I have an intermittent noise from under the hood
I believe your carrs makes the noise when in motion. hence it is important to identify the place from where the noise is heard. if it is from the fron please use a jack and life up your car. check the rotation of the wheels,if noisy then check on the wheel bearings, brake linings, pads, discs. opne and confirm check the front suspension for damage to the links, the shock absorbers, the bushes that support the arms, and for any chassis damage that is scrapping against the tyres. Do the same for the rear side. Please also try to press down the car for any squeaking. locate the noise and change the part which could be as above. However is you think that the noise is coming from the gear box/ differencial, then it might pose a bigger problem, it could be low oil in your gear box, failure of the counter wheels, the gear drives or shafts. if is important to run the drive while in jack. I hope you get this helps. Good day. .
When the car is hot, and you turn the key, the
It is your main relay. Go to Youtube and search acura legend main relay. The main relay is located by your feet above the steering column. The solder point in the relay are weak due to temperature in the car while sitting and the outside temp is high. Also do a google search. several schematics on location. I would tap mine while turning the key and it would fire right up. Best solution is to remove and resolder the joints that are bad. Visually you will know.

Battery dies causing the car to shut down
Check to make sure the battery is good bring it to a advance auto parts store they check the batteries for free. If battery checks out ok be sure to clean the battery trerminals and battery posts then reinstall and proceed to start the car after the car is running use a voltmeter to check the output at the large red wire where it bolts to the back of the alternator the reading should eb a minimum of 13.5 vols if lower than that the alternator must be replaced. The car shuts down when the battery dies because the ignition system must have a minimum of 12 volts to operate.
Thermo valve broken, does this cause over heating?
if you mean "thermostat" valve .. then that can fail either open or closed . if it fails open then the engine will not reach normal operating temperatures .. if it fails closed then yes the engine will overheat .. another common failure is the radiator fan .. it only runs when the car is not moving .. as long as the car is moving then cooling air is available so the fan is not needed ... so if your car does not overheat when driven but overheats when stopped or idling then suspect the radiator fan or thermal switch (mounted on the radiator) .. that switch turns on the fan when the radiator gets so hot ... you can just listen for the fan when hot .. you should hear it .. .. if your car gets too hot while driving then suspect a bad thermostat or clogged radiator .. sometimes a bad water pump (broken implellers) will cause the trouble ..
Car will not start. it will crank over but thats
Try this: When it's hot inside your car it
causes a solder joint on a little circuit board in your Main/Fuel Relay
to loose contact. The MAIN RELAY is up above your gas pedal near the
cruise control computer. Almost directly behind the dash vent opposite
of your coin drawer. It will be a gray or brownish/orange box with a
plug of wires connected to it. Use a 10mm socket (with extensions to
reach) to move the metal cruise control unit out of the way and tap the
Relay, "Plastic Box", while someone tries to start the car. If you can
bring it down into better view you can tap it and start the car if
you're flexible.
TO FIX THE PROBLEM: Don't buy a new one, just pry the cover off of it
with a flat head screwdriver and look close where all the sharp pins are
sticking up on the board to find the broken solder connection(s). Heat
the faulty pin with a soldering iron until the solder puddles around it
and your good to go. The crack in the solder will be smaller than a
human hair, look close & wiggle it and you'll see the loose
connection. There is usually no need to add solder, what is there is
enough, it just needs melted again. Works every time on the Accord,
Prelude, Civic and Integra.
My car was runnig when i parked it. and now it
If you are speaking of the distributor parts, and the cap and rotor were what you cleaned, then you may have water in the distributor. When it collects on these two parts, the high voltage (spark plugs) can arc-over these parts causing burns in the component insulation. If you see any black streaks on either part--replace it. If you can visibly move the distributor shaft sideways in several directions, replace the distributor body. Check the oil for any sign of water in it. You should also check the PCV valve for plugging as it is responsible for removing vapors in the crankcase (which may have passed into the distributor). Hope this helps!
Replacing acura legend clutch master cylinder
Well, it just unbolts, remove fluid line and replace the unit.
What is very important is to "bench bleed" all of the air before mounting unit. parts stores have easy bleeding kits that essentially reroute the output from the unit, directly back to the reservoir. if you do not pre bleed, you may die before you ever get it working...
What kind of transmission do i get for a 90 acura
I assume you have an automatic transmission, and that you are looking to replace it with a like unit. All good wreckers have interchange info on these, if you choose a used imported unit there are some that have different axle sizes, be careful!!! You don't want to get it all in only to find your axles wont fit, a good company to call if FEI thier toll free # is 1800 552 9889 they are most helpful and know thier stuff! Hope this helps.
THERE IS AN INTERMITTENT CLICKING AND WHISTLE
Sounds like it could be a dirty ground on your therostatic fan. The clicking is a relay clicking in and out which could be due to a bad earth or broken wire. Have a good look around and see what you can find.
Anti lock light in dash came on.
these car have problem with abs pump leaking, check to see if you have enough brake fluid. the pump is on the left side front of engine compartment
I own a 1990 Acura Legend. There are two problems
under the drivers seat is the security module, ground the green with red wire, to disarm the alarm always, not sure about the radio, it sounds like a loose conection on the blue with black memory wire hook a wire to this and run it to the white with black wire at the ignition switch, you might also want to check the black ground wire on the radio
What engine do i put in
its always easier to replace it with what ever was in the car makes all the connections fast and easy. but everything can be modified but can get expensive.
Wants to turn over but seems like no gas
It is possible the fuel pump relay is intermittent. However, it is more likely the crank sensor or ignition module is in the beginning stages of failure.
A technician with a proper data stream scan tool will be able to isolate the crank sensor and read any trouble codes that are present.
Good luck.
