How to remove and clean fuel injectors

can be lots of things. (gas engine, size not STATED) not just injectors. here is what we do and not waste time (hard work) on them. 1: ENGINE COMPRESSION TEST. W.O.T. (or leak down tool) 2: we do the 60k tuneup now, you know, the old drill. spark plugs, cables cap and rotor, wow, spark is good and the misfire is gone.. (like the oldest story on earth, on cars) 3: fueling. is one cylinder dead,? is one spark plug wet. did you do the dead cylinder tests, ( shorting a spark plug or use any IR pyro temperature gun tool pointed to the exhaust ports to see if they are all hot near same? in the olden days, finger near there , told me that, but if you slip you burn fingers , fast forward to day the tool is $15 and not burns. i make sure all injectors are firing next. i use a NOID lamp at each injector i check all injector coils for 10 ohms or all the same. i listen to each injector with my $5 stethoscope, click click. if all that passes, i then do the injector balance test using my $20 fuel pressure guage. (ask) to panic an remove the injectors is covered in the FSM http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service the process is the same on all MPI engines. 1: pull battery neg lug. 2: discharge the fuel line pressure using FSM method. do not do this indoors or near valuables. or near fire. wear goggles, have fire extinguisher near by. and a blanket. 3: unplug all injectors. 4: unbolt the fuel rail. bam, they are all free. to yank out. good engine good spark good fueling, in that order or waste huge time and effort and wasted parts.

What is diagnostic code 22 for a 1994 Jeep Cherokee grand limited

That code is for the engine coolant temperature sensor. "...input above maximum acceptable voltage." I would try a new temp. sensor. If that doesn't fix it, you may need to have an engine scanner hooked up, and see what the sensor is sending to the computer, and go from there. A bad coolant temp. sensor can cause hard starting like your symptoms. .

Yes I have a 1994 grand Cherokee Jeep limited

not true, at all. kevin... (your answer is wits end ways) guessing is bad. The CEL LAMP MUST COME ONE KEYON. The lamp is the PCM self test and glows key on. if not , the fuse to the PCM is blown, 10cents, not $1000 new PCM. wow. I repair PCM for living, from 1970. to now. L-Jetronics to present. here is a better list Battery at 12.6v rested. lamps glowing dont mean squat. the battery below 10v , the PCM will fail. the electronics spec is 10 to 16vdc. that is the rules. then fuses good. (ask how to test them with an Ohmeter.)ask. 1: new car to you? PO prev.owner removed lamp to up sales price. we call this the Classic, CEL (MIL dead cause) removed it or painted the bulb black or black electrician tap, tricky applied. or the CEL holder is missing, (jokers all) 2: the scan tool works 10x better, use one (no comms? fuse blown, good comms. does the MIL show active or not? if active and the lamp is out the lamp is burned out or the PO removed it, the scan tool will not lie to you ,like old funky dash lamps. and PO's from H3LL.) 3; the 94 is OBD1 PCM. (ECU) and can be key on 3 times checked) to activate the cause of failure, DTCs. ever do that? every read that? its a fact. here are some more facts. the Immoblize will alow car to start for 2 seconds then kills spark and fuel. so if it glows, at key on, and stays glowing , its a waste of time trying to start car. its IMMOBILIZED> if the IMMO light is happy and will not crank here is the ASD reasons. http://www.fixkick.com/Jeeps/ASD.html this tool can scan old jeeps 93-95 and up. http://www.amazon.com/INNOVA-3120-Diagnostic-Reader-Vehicles/dp/B000KID2ZC/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1395411804&sr=1-1&keywords=INNOVA+3120 its only code reader but does do MIL status. and readiness. and all DTCs. to get the 3 key on test to work the CEL must be good. that is why i use scan tools , so i dont need to waste time with the lamp. can take 1hr or more to replace lamp if bad or missing btw, once access to lamp is attained, you can steal a unused lamp for the CEL and fix it fast. trick 2, on jeeps put finger in ASD relay , and turn key on , then crank can you feel it close, then drop out in 2 seconds. ????????????? does this help?, tell more, ask more. get more.

When i open the door of my 1994 jeep grand Cherokee the illumination relay clicks repeatedly the radio does not work and the information center does not work

I would try finding all the ground wires on the vehicle and cleaning them to make sure they are getting a good ground. 12 volt systems are very sensitive to bad grounds. I seriously doubt that turning on the light had anything to do with it, but a bad ground could give low voltage to the radio, relays, etc. and make them turn on and off. The more things you turn on the more the bad connection will give problems. I hope this helps.

Just bought a 94 jeep grand Cherokee all wheel

yes the tire size is very important! however assuming everything is the correct equipment the wandering problem is likely the u-joints in the front axles binding. If this is the case the front axle u-joints need to be replaced. This is very common on 4x4 vehicles with solid front axles. Good luck!

Engine Overheating

no other signs just the dash gauge, upset? what if its fibbing? no steam, no water to ground overflowing overflow tank. no engine pinging. no lost power, from engine, SIGNS. are key. here. Did you consider using a IR pyro gun for $20 and find if it is really overheating,? the gun also finds clogged rad tubes, childs play like. are you loosing coolant. that is when cold actually off the cap and look down deep in the RAD tank? This matters, most. which engine,? 2.5,4L or bigger? what does no coolant going into...., mean.? it's a loop system. first off, we need to know does it overheat only parked? or can you drive it from cold and keep it going and it never overheats moving fast.? if the engine stays cool 180F, moving fast , then your stop. and NOW it it overheats, that means the fan is dead. or a marginal radiator, (Pyro gun to rescue)

I have a 1994 jeep cherokee sport with only 89,000 mile . the top of the motor has a loud kocking . what could it be . a rocker loose or broke

Yeah either one...but that doesn't cause the low oil pressure light to come on. When you have oil pressure light comes on, that means that your oil pump is failing and/or your main bearing seals are failing. Costly repair.

How do you reset the abs light.

you must have skipped a step>? did you follow all steps in the FSM or all steps at ALLDATA.com under brakes? ABS auto resets each key on. if and ABS scan shows rear brake failure it is. if it is, then they are in fact bad (slipping) the ABS detects tire /road slip, then modulates the brakes as you stop if the ABS sees, the rear brakes fail, during braking then the brakes are in fact bad, it will not lie to you, but if you left a sensor off or broke it, the scan tool would show that. id try to find a scan tool for you ABS and use it.

When i drive my jeep she shuts off like shes out of gas

it may be, LOL is the ASD dripping (relay) i started and ASD page http://www.fixkick.com/nostart-flow/ASD.html short answer is use a full scan tool (cheap) and see what dies on the fly. easy as cherry pie. if you see nothing wrong during a scan, and DC power was good. that means the Full pressure dropped like a rock ! ECU does NOT monitor Full pressure. so..... is that, I have a remote fuel pressure gauge, that solves that riddle every time.

Wont shift since ran out of gas

jeep ZJ 94. no car runs, out of gas,,,, my dream do to this , has failed, 100 times. HHO failed, and x,z,y. even the match book cover, showing "turn water to fuel" fails. im pulling your leg, running out of fuel , likes to burn up fuel pumps. they are fuel cooled and fuel lubricated. so dont do that. or $$$$$$$ after you ran it dry, the pump can fail, or have hard time priming. long cranking to get the full system primed. is engine running ok?, you failed to say that important fact...so..... if engines ok? does car go fast in 1st gear, fact 2 missing.....so...........??? wont shift can mean , tranny slips or wont go to 2nd, 3rd gear.??? which is it? slips? so skips? or shifts late? or shift too early.? id reset the tranny TCM. (brain) one way is to pull the battery neg cable for 5 min. wait and put it back all TCM have learn mode. so drive and teach it how you drive. newer cars , 1trans, fists vast number of cars so it has an even harder learn mode (not yours) tell more get more......???????????????? the FSM is here. under ZJ. http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service

Runs for an hour then will not start act like its vapor locked

its EFI they dont vapor lock , like carbs, not at all. so lost spark, test spark on all cylinders. if you lost it all , you dropped the ASD relay? if you have spark try test fuel,. (spray) im now posted this everytime , no spark. my 3 time now, trying to reach a new record..... LOL no scan , tool so on your car , you do the CEL falsh code deal. see in the fsm under emission+diagnostics. http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service quoting my self.... on this forum... posted to fixya many times ASD "automatic shut down relay" what is it? it cuts fuel (and spark) if the PCM thinks, there is any danger of crash and burn. The PCM drops the ASD for many reason, this list is all years. (some are missing on early years) 1: sees the spark weak or dead on the ignitor or coil primary pin. (it knows spark is bad) 2: Crank sensor bad. or misfiring. CKP 3: cam sensor bad, or misfiring , CMP. 4: ASD input read back pin fails. (PCM commanded it but it refused to do its job) 5: same ASD output fails. i commanded it but the relay is bad. dead. 6: Immoblizer active. (failing or bad key etc,) if the ASD drops driving or even parked idling one of the above caused it. the ASD has engine startup logic that is unique to JEEPs. you must crank with in seconds or the key on is ignored by many jeeps. you crank and the above 6 must not fail during the start event or it cuts the ASD. note carefully, if spark is bad cranking, the ASD cuts spark 100% more dead.(funny, but very true ,read the ASD schematic) you only get 2 seconds to get the 6 factors true or the game is all over. if when driving, it sees one of the 5 fail, ASD drops. in fact ASD can drop then come back. while drive, people say it cuts out. if true, using any dirt cheap scan tool will show why, DTCs tell you. Cmp /ckp or spark dead. pending or live DTC freeze frame, dtc will show what failed. and even seeing RPM drop like a rock, faster than any crankshaft can spin down, dig? or loss of 12vdc power to the PCM , does all this above. DIES.

Fuel injectors

You typically don't need to remove your fuel injectors to clean them. Have you tried using a really strong fuel injector cleaning product? Also if you go to any garage, they can use a machine to clean you injectors for you, it is a lot easier and less expensive (if you screw something up) than doing it yourself.
