My car is off but I hear a fan noise-type coming from the hood. Is that normal?

It is the electric fan for the radiator. It may stay on for a while for the car to cool down. I have never liked cars that do this. Once they kick off they probably will not kick back on, but for this type electric fan set up I would never put my hands near the fan without the battery completely disconnected. You also might have the engine off and the ignition on, make sure the key is actually in the "Off" position and remove the key. A worn key cylinder may let you remove the key even though it is not actually in the "Off" position. So be careful and sure of what is actually happening. Good luck and keep all your fingers.

Power steering pump is making a lot of noise, especially in the morning when it's cold outside.

It is the pump itself making the noise, or is it the drive belt slipping on the pulley? Sometimes the belt just need tightened, or replaced if it is glazed.

I have a 2005 Honda pilot with 171,650 + miles. The vtm4, abs, and malfunction indicator light comes on, what does these mean

codes can be checked by a repair shop, but if you want to check them yourself, buy one of these on Amazon and download the ap for it on your smart phone: http://www.amazon.com/Panlong-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Scanner-Windows/dp/B00PJPHEBO/ref=sr_1_11?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1425243296&sr=1-11&keywords=obd+ii+scanner Then you'll be able to read and reset the codes yourself. (caution: my friend the mechanic is happy to have me look at these things, but he would always prefer that you not reset your codes because they are very useful to a mechanic for diagnosis)

How do I get printout of interest I paid on loan in 2014?

Contact your lender. You may be able to set up online access to your account data through the lender's website. If that is available, it probably includes links for your account status, history and statements. The December statement likely shows interest paid during the year.

My 2005 Honda pilot had battery disconnected then read code and now says error? I tried putting in radio code still error?

Sounds like you have the wrong code, maybe the radio was replaced? Hold preset buttons 1 and 6 then turn on the radio. It will display the radio serial #, 4 digits then 4 more. Dealer can get you the code. Or you can register at the owners site online and get the code yourself.

My 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L

Hello! The Console can certainly be repaired...It is nothing more than light bulbs and switches...It never ceases to amaze me how dealerships, when confronted by an electrical problem will refer to it as a "short"...The word "open" isn't in their word bank...
I'll need just a little clarification to make sure I understand the problem...When you say "left" you mean on the side favoring the driver; Correct?.At this time the only light that does not work is the map light that favors the passenger side; Correct?...Which bulbs have gone bad?...

Do you have a multimeter and a wee bit of experience using it?...If so I'll send a few test procedures and we will shoot the trouble together...Send a comment...

How to reset the transponder honda pilot?

I presume you want to initialize or"sync" up your navigation system to the satellite. You will need the 4 digit navigation code and the 5 digit audio code. Make sure your vehicle is parked out in the open where there are no trees over it. Turn it on and the nav screen should be asking for 4 digit code. That is the navigation code.If entered correctly the display should change to the disclaimer screen. For the radio to work turn that on and you should see in the space where the station frequency appears, the words ENTER CODE.When the 5 digit radio code is entered correctly the radio should start working. I hope this helps as it is as short as I can make it. If you don't have those codes then you will have to get them from a Honda dealer. Good luck
