Does you vehicle have a hydraulic cooling fan on the radiator? The hydraulic fan system is ran by the power steering. The fluid level for the power steering is full?

I think you can have a head gasket leak and not get coolant in your oil. You may be getting enough in there that it's causing that cylinder to not fire and give a rough idle.

Hi I would find the alarm unit and either dissconnect it or replace the ni-cads. At this age the rechargeable batteries will have failed so as it gets cold at night, the alarm thinks the voltage drop is a burglar! So set off the alarm : Cheers Roger

Hi, You can not do it yourself. Take it to the dealer and they will reprogram it for you and give you a new key. If the remote has a week battery it won't work either. Replace battery Good luck

Have you had the battery load tested? If not do that, all the symptoms you outlined point to low battery voltage. Even you think it is ok still have it tested.

have the OBD I codes read ,it might just need a reset but will also tell you if there is an issue with any sensors/switches etc

I had somewhat the same problem early this year. My trusty mechanic surprised me by saying that the injector lines were dirty. It surprised me because I had been pretty faithful in putting injector cleaner in the gas tank on each oil change.

the cylinder head gasket is failing- antifreeze is being sucked into combustion chamber and burning-thus the white smoke- sorry- you need to have heads planned and new head gaskets installed- cheers Denny

make sure the engine is cold , drain the coolant from the rad ,there will be a drain tap/bolt on the bottom of the rad ,be sure to us a container to collect the fluid as should'nt be left to run down a drain etc as is very toxic,disconnect the top and bottom hoses, there are usually two bolts either side of rad loosen these, rad may lift out if not remove the bolts and lift the rad away and out of vehicle , if the cooling fan is attached to the rad remove , will be obvious what bolts need undoing, replace this fan unit on new rad ,then refit new rad , reverse of removal , dont for get to check the drain plug is closed on the new rad , refill cooling system by adding coolant to the expansion tank, run the engine and bleed the air from system ,there will be bleed screws at various points around cooling hoses etc , allow engine to cool 1 hour min ,check coolant level top up and repeat bleeding process as neseccary good luck very straight forward job , keep me posted

sounds like a head gasket leak if the car is leaking gas DO NOT drive it if the gas is hitting the exhaust it will catch fire

White smoke means water is getting into the engine from teh coolant system. Likely that your engine cylinder head has a crack, or head gasket is bad
