Did you get the trouble codes read. I doubt the codes have anything to do with a wire connected to the hood

Sorry to give you the bad news but if you have transmission fluid in your water, you have a bad radiator. I dont care what kind of car you have..

I believe its on the engine block just below the head, above the transmisssion.

any power steering fluid is fine, you can also use ATF ( automatic transmission fluid ) dextron II.

try flushing or replacing the heater core for some reason they get clogged

My experience has shown that it's the battery contacts that always are the problem. Pop out your battery and clean the contacts - the metal pieces that make connection with the sides of the battery. Use a pencil eraser (believe it or not) to clean the contacts - just be sure to blow out any eraser dust. Good luck and be sure of your battery orientation.

You can loose your steering and your going to go for a free ride to where the car will want to go.

if your neon doesn't have a direct switch on the side of it or if you cant push in on the light directly, check your dash for a gauge dimmer control switch. It is probably turned all the way up and in the clicked on position. Its usually located on the drivers side near the headlight switch if your headlights aren't activated by the armetuer on the column.
