the fuse box. at left ankle? the operators guide shows this. lost that? the schematic, shows in the J/B ,means cab juncton box or in grinngo , fuse box , left front, cab ,LHD. usa cars are LHD. s..... but say in UK be RHD. and all diffr.

ever get a tune up this decade.like new spark plugs? at 30k or 60k miles per the owners guide.?sputters is misfiring, and is 90% caused by owners never doing service. regular service,same answer for 100 years, gas engines.time to get it serviced,if it it is tuned up.??????then EGR stuck open, lean it or replace it.or one or more cylinders are misfiring.a scan tool is next to see if its 1 cylinder or all cylinders misfiring, and lots more (test wise)or better yet? ask your mech (tecH) to find cause.no engine stated. so.... no details. ever.G16J20H25 engines?

i would get the OBDII codes read as could be a number of things , codes will tell you which sensor/switch etc causing the problem as there are quite a few things that could cause these symptoms

Fully charge the battery first disconnect it from the vehicle, replace the relay borrowed from another spot, try it

please refine hard. the car has longer stopping distance, (hard to stop it) or is the vacuum booster dead. and its now manual brakes and the pedal is harder to push, (hard #2) what, try to be more clear, what you do and car does. wrong./

do a little work here yourself as you are not going to find a suzuki parts expert on this board.
do a google search for "auto recycler". go to one of those sites as they have on line parts search. find the part you are looking for and note the "interchange number". then find the same part on the other car, if they have the same interchange number then the parts are interchangeable. most likely if one is auto and the other manual, then they are not going to interchange. also if one had an overdrive and the other not, then again they are not going to interchange.

alternatively go to a suzuki dealer parts desk and ask them to get into the IPB for both models and see if they have the same part number.

4 post is the shifter stuck in park? if so, that is a features, called Park lock out. that means you can not put car in gear, Drive, Rev., 1 or 2nd. check fuses first. then make sure brake lights at rear of car actually work. then post.

scan it ! fuses 1st scan always 2nd. see DTC errors.? bingo?

which engine, wiring varies by Egnine G16, J20, H25? what? a fuse blows to stop the fire from a shorted power feed. the fuses have names and numbers. with that info. i can tell you all paths that can short for that fuse. what you do is pull all loads 1 by 1 on that shorted feed. if still blows the harness is shorted (long hard inspections, or 15min work with my ammeter short finder (magnetic) the schematics are here. for 4bucks. read it or DL it. https://suzukipitstopplus.com/Products/10551-1999-grand-vitara-service-manual.aspx tell what fuse. or photo it with finger pointing, this is easy stuff for electronics, techs, super easy, and vary common. cluster A11 and A12 is power to cluster. pull connector A yet? fuse #6 under hood called combination.meter headlight left does fuse blow head lights on only>? Fuse 17, also goes to cluster meter. and many other things. x10 29 fuses total, tell which one please. only blows key on? fuse 21 is combo meter too. IG-meter Fuse 17, marked DOME i have the drawings if you , can stated fuse name.

same as all boxes ! make sure filler plug comes off first. (or cry later) remove side plug, (its caulked in factory use 10mm drive or strip it.) remove bottom plug it drains to a PAN put back plug fill to side level plug , bottom edge of hole. all 5sp. manual trans. what happens when not using 3/8" drive instead of 10mm square drive. it strips fast. http://www.fixkick.com/tranny/custom-oil-filler1w.JPG and the solution.,

did your read the FSM yet i have no clue as to what job your doing, so... any guess would be silly on my part https://suzukipitstopplus.com/Products/10551-1999-grand-vitara-service-manual.aspx No engine size stated no transmission stated, nor which 4wd system opted day 1. nor job, at hand tell more get more. the fsm are sold used on ebay and what is intacted mean? what are you doing, removing trans or just xfr case or what. if you need all steps to a job, why not just ask. we can fetch that off any of 3 major online FSM.? why not? on my GV, there is a hidden bolt, keeping (preventing) tranny to xfr case separation. if that was the issue/ (wild guess on my part) ive restored 4 of these car now. sold 3. so.... know them well. and have full documents;.

If you are sure all the bolts are out, then use a screw drive and hammer to pry it apart at the seam. Gaskets and silicone can and hold them tight. There are also a couple of guide pins that will hold them in. Go from one side to the other when prying.

english please. 400s is egr fail lots of tests. no engine stated so answers are all general. or wrong. but 400 is egr fail (it a system not just a part)

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Have helper use a piece of hose about 5 feet long to listen all over top of engine when first started to try to find noise.
