I left my keys in

I would like to say use a rock a hammer, a locksmith, or spare keys but I have done this enough times to know how not funny that can be while you are locked out.

Unfortunately with new vehicles they have various anti theft devices built in. Some are rather subtle like the door lock knobs being smooth so you cannot get a grip on them with a coat hanger wire and so on. Without causing damage your options are really quite limited. If you had a window open a inch or two you can use a coat hanger to get the keys out of the ignition by hooking the keyring and getting it outside. Other than that you will not be able to unlock the doors unless you have electric locks and can hit the unlock with the button. Past this simple thing you would have to make a tool called a jimmy which most locksmiths or towtruck or aa drivers might have. Short of busting a window you only other non damaging options are to call AA or a locksmith or talk to the towtruck companies if they can open it for you. This might cost a bit to get it opened but there won;t be any damage other than a bit of pride. This also can be the fastest way in. Even the coat hanger trick will take a lot of time unless you get lucky right away.

I actually have 4 sets of keys for my Ford. Rumour has it that I may have locked myself out once or twice ;-]

Had to replace radiator, also

If you are still adding to your system its still leaking-could be a head gasket. Open the radiator cap while the motor is COLD and start it, then look to see if there are bubbles in your radiator. Also check your oil dipstick and if you see foamy or wet oil/water mix you have a head problem.

I have had a 1995

Hi.

Unfortunately Ford/Mercury did not issue any recall about the spare tire cable. Here all recalls concerning your van model: 1996 Mercury Villager Recalls.

A good solution would be replacing the spare tire nut and cable. A solution is getting an aftermarket replacement like the one below. That should be safe enough to allow you putting the spare cable back in place under the van without safety concerns. Click on the picture below to open the page.

Or click here.

Note: If the problem is not the spare tire nut and cable but the rod attached to the chassis you will need to carry a welding job to fix a new rod to the chassis. In that case the repair must be done at the garage. If the problem is nut and cable I suggest buying the part shown above or an equivalent.

Regards.

Brake pedal goes to the

You have air in the braking system, the first press compresses the air and forces it into suspension in the brake fluid, allowing the second press to operate the brakes, then, when you leave it alone, the iar seeps out of suspension, back into being air in the pipe and it all happens again.

You need to get your brakes bled. More to the point, you need to figure out how the air got IN there! Has someone taken the brakes apart or removed and replaced a brake caliper, piston or pipe?

Wheel getting hot on 96 mecury villager

This is caused by the caliper not releasing all the way. When this happes it is caused by the brake hose going to the caliper. Replace both sides. They deteriorate from the inside and clog up, thus not letting the brake fluid to flow back.
