I assume you have rebuilt the transmission and it is totally dry, empty torque converter?

Check for a short in the wiring, particularly at the bulb sockets connection.
If you have a trailer connection socket, check this also for frayed/damaged wires.
Replace any bulbs that are damaged or suspected faulty.

If you still cant find any problem, remove all bulbs on the tail light circuit - replace fuse - check that is doesn't blow.
Install bulbs one at a time - check fuse as each bulb re-installed- if fuse blows when a particular bulb installed the faulty circuit/bulb is then identified.

Disconnect the old ones electrical connector and unbolt it from the transfer case.

check the fuel pump

Yes if the pump works on direct connection to battery when relay bypassed then its most possible the relay fault.The relay has to be replaced and checked.It should help to solve the problem.But for the exact location of the relay.The exact make model and year of the car is required.

in the usa. must we guess? in the USA all cars are EFI, starting in about 1988./89 by law. (EPA) we cant guess what engine you have or fueling system. but EFI is in the gas tank. if a carb , it can be in many places, tell engine size. first. and country. me , i just look. i look at my fuel rail and see the gas feed go rear. i use my eyes to follow those lines, and if i see a filter, first then bingo that is fuel feed, then it goes to tank , well no pump was found leaving only one possible place, that tank. works on all cars. made. gas. on some cars the fuel line feeds the throttle body. directly.
