You might not be getting the fuel you need. Check the fuel pressure under load. Check the linkage for sticking at high throttle. Check the fuel filter Check your Vacuum advance to be sure it is advancing the distributor correctly Mike

I would start by calling local salvage yards and see what they have. If they don't have one they can usually put it on a parts seach and locate something.

CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY

Under air intake manifold. you should be remove front right whell then you can see fuel pump there.

You need to rebuild the carburetor or clean the choke linkage and make sure the choke valve closes cold.

For old diesel engines. Some starting issues may be solved by upgrading your starter and checking your electrical system if it's providing enough power for the starter.

You have to remove the carb & remove the plug to
get access to the idle screw

I think I know what has happened. You say that the engine will not turn over by wrench. Remove the bolts out of the transmission and double check the placement of the clutch disc. The input shaft, if not in the input shaft bushing/bearing, will bind the transmission and engine and act like a locked up engine. It will also act like a very loose clutch cable. Let me know what you find because you may have to realign the clutch.

Well how recant is the reading been saying this i mean did it all of a sudden start reading low . 10 PSI is to low for a hot engine you could try replaceing the oil pressure sending unit but if this dosn't fix it then i would have to say you have a serious problem interinaly in the engine eighter valve or ring related or a big oil leak somewhere dose it burn oil?

The injectors have o-rings that will wear and cause fuel leak into engine and cause same smoke problem ,but glow plugs are only for engine firing.........you can change o-rings only but if it has lot of miles i would do injectors...
however make sure the fuel rail isnt leaking at injector connection.also check exhaust for excessive heat or noise inside cat.converter if you can shake it.....some come apart inside.....
it would be worth having the engine scanned to make sure 02 sensors are good..they control air/fuel mix and if oxygen level is incorrect it will burn more fuel and sometimes fuel scent but not very bad.

Might be your throw out bearing.....If its a whistling or a growling noise then i bet that's what it is.

Please be more specific on what do you mean by "hard"
it could be more than one problem...
it could be the starter,ignition switch,fuel,electrical,etc...
so please tell me what is exactly happening with you when you try to start the vehicle...

Fuel Pressure Regulator is located on the fuel rail.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.

3. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube(s).

4. Remove any necessary components to access the pressure regulator.

5. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator.

6. Remove the pressure regulator attaching screws.

7. Remove the pressure regulator from the fuel rail.

To Install

8. Discard the O-rings on the pressure regulator and replace them with new ones.

9. Lubricate the O-rings with clean engine oil.

10. Install the regulator into the fuel rail and tighten the retaining screws.

11. Connect the vacuum hose to the regulator.

12. Install any components removed to access the regulator.

13. Install the air cleaner outlet tube(s).

14. Connect the negative battery cable.
