my 2002 isuzu rodeo transmission is slipping should i first get it flushed before buying a transmission?
Posted by princessno... on
I have a 2002 Rodeo and just had the transmission leak fixed, but my truck is jumping and jerking and seems like it is stuck in gear. I don't see anything leaking and tired of taking it to the dealer so what could be my problem.

diagnostic code for isuzu rodeo p1125,p1295, and p1550
Posted by Anonymous... on
P1125 is: Throttle Positioning Sensor intermittent.
P1295 is: Multiple faults on bank 1 (right)
P1550 is: Power steering pressure sensor out of self test range.
Well the ECM recognizes 3 codes. Were these codes stored as inactive (in the history section)? Or are these codes all active? Code P1125 and P1295 may be related but P1550 is separate. How else may I help?

Where on the transmission -- is the shift solenoid located on the 2002 Isuzu Rodeo
Posted by barnes7096 on
It is located just under the pan in a block called the valve body, it contains 2 shift solenoids, and a million little canals for oil. There is no drain plug on it, just have to drop the pan and spill out the fluid, that drips for months afterward. You can change these things if you are handy, if not, don't even attempt it. Watch out for the check balls,

I am trying to remove the 2 belts in front of my alternator on my 97 Isuzu Rodeo. I am unable to loosen the tension on the 2 belts in front of the alternator. How do I do this? Also is there a site to watch a video on how to do this?
Posted by riderws6 on
You need to loosen the alternator so the belts become slack. Look for bolts on top and bottom that attach the alternator to a bracket or the engine block. Loosen them and the alternator will move. Since the belts hook to other accessories, you may need to loosen them too. To get them back and the proper tension, you'll need a large screwdriver or pry bar to put tension on them as you tighten the bolts. I suggest you get a Haynes guide for this model that will have photos showing how this is done.

2002 isuzu rodeo, won't crank, push starts and runs fine. took out starter and had it tested at store, they said it was good. Tried test light under the hood and there was no problem I could find. Someone suggested it could be the clutch pedal ignition lock switch. Is it also called neutral safety switch and other names? Where is this located and is it easy to change?
Posted by father0811... on
Look under the dash at the clutch pedal. Should be a switch or a button hidden under there near the top of the pedal. Pull the connector off and put a large paper clip in it, or a short piece of wire, and try the starter. If it doesn't work then check the starter fuse and relay. Just swap the starter relay out with something that you know works like the AC or Fuel pump and see if it starts. If all else fails then it could be the ignition switch itself.
