How much pag oil a/c was vacumed
Probably none, or very little. Most of the oil stays in the compressor and the condenser, so the normal procedure is to add an ounce or two unless you are replacing a major component.
How to read codes for 2001 Eldorado Cadillac
Take a look at your air con controls on the centre console.
You will see an "OFF" button and to the right of this you will see a toggle switch with an up arrow with the word "PASS" just below it.
Simultaneously press the "OFF" button and the up arrow together for three seconds or so and release when you see the instrument cluster lights come on.
You are now in diagnostic mode.
Read the codes from the digital display on the instrument cluster.
Have a pen and note pad ready to write down the codes.
Power steering leak
sounds like the power steering cooler is leaking, not sure why they said you need a new rack?
I keep getting a low refrig a/c off signal what should i do
Sounds like you broke an A/C line. You may also have a bad compressor and the white smoke is a sign the drive belt is going to break. Turn your dash controls to vent or off and go to an A/C repair shop.
The white smoke indicates more than just being low on Freon, the operating fluid in your A/C. It means you have a broken hose or failed "O" ring which a professional needs to fix.
Stop and smell the roses
vehicles are forever changing, its always a learning curve. so keep an open mind, always start with the cheapest way to find and fix the problem. there is nothing wrong with junk yards. and listen to all views because in between you may find the answer. sometimes keep it simple stupid is a great way to work on cars. they can be aggravating. and expensive. but in what was a great country, we are reduced to a shadow of the great industrial nation we were!. so we must make do for many many yrs to come. :( green energy cars are never going to be mainstream, at least not in the next 75 yrs. so get used to junk yards folks. hang on to your stuff it will be worth it. call me what u will, im a realist. and your feeling it already. how many of u can go buy a chevy volt? or survive the exploding batteries.lol seriously learn from those who know cars. they are worth there weight in gold. so listen to anyone who wants to give u knowledge about internal combustion engines. time tested!!!
Lights are on but car won't start there is a
replace your battery. seriously i know it sounds simple but sometimes, thats all it is. just a simple fix. trust me i've built hotrods and spilt blood sweat and tears just to lay under the damned thing in the middle of the night and have a brain storm. and to realize that i just needed to stop and think simple, would have saved me days of aggravation, and tears! just try it. cadillacs are especially touchy. so always start simple.
