The same "latch" secures the trunk closed.
The key, electric relay and button operate the same latch.
IF the trunk fails to open, the "latch" is not completely releasing from the catch that secures it.
The next time that you open it, inspect the adjustment of the latch assembly. It has 2 bolts that secure it. You can loosen them and adjust the assembly to a slight more open position - so that each time you operate the latch, it releases from the catch.

Don't move the assembly too far - or the trunk will not be able to lock closed at all.

Had a similar issue. The leak though, in front of the left-front tire was the windshield washer pump seal. Check to see if that fluid is washer fluid. If so, then thats likely the problem.

check your fuse in fuse block

order a new switch over the internet or a scrapyard ,these cars are prone the switches going wrong ,oftewn i take them apart and clean the contacts then glue them back together

take out your radio and look to see if the entena is conected to the back of your radio if it is look for any carosion on the male conection of the entena if there is clean it off an plug it back in.

not sure on the auto version if this is one ,doesnt it just pop off like the manual one i would have thought so
