2000 Audi S4 Manual Transmission car - starting issue

Before you do anything expensive... check the battery cables, particularly the black earth lead where it connects to the engine block/bodywork. Also check the cleanliness and tightness of the battery terminal clamps themselves. In the engine bay also look for any other black earthing cables. Loosen and retighten them (I.e .. clean them..). A bad earth can cause numerous problems. It sounds as though you have an earthing problem with the car. You may have an additional problem with the under-dashboard electronics, which has been causing intermittent working of some instruments. However, this may also be due to a badly/corroding earth wire somewhere. Do the simple things first and if the problem persists see a decent auto electrician.

How to check & change oil in automatic transmission on 2000 Audi S4

At the bottom of the automatic gearbox (tiptronic) you will find 2 threaded plugs on below surface. First one (in front of the car) is for emptying = drain plug, and second one is for filling = filler plug. Tightening torque is 24 Nm for drain plug, and 80 Nm for filler plug.

tdisline_168.jpg

Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) checking:
1. Requirements for check:
1.1. Vehicle standing on level surface.
1.2. Transmission must not be in fail-safe mode.
1.3. Shift lever in "P" position, parking brake applied.
1.4. Engine idling.
1.5. Air Conditioner and heater OFF.
1.6. ATF temperature must not exceed 104 Fahrenheit degree (40 Celsius degree) at start of test.
1.7. Only ATF with designation ESSO LT 71 141 may be used. Do not use any lubricant additives.
1.8. Automatic Transmission Fluid ATF - part number: G 052 162 A2 (1 liter wrapping)
1.9. An ATF level check when transmission oil temperature is too low results in overfilling, when too high results in underfilling.
2. CAUTION: Too much or too little ATF will affect the operation of the transmission. The ATF level must be checked at regular intervals.
3. The oil level is correct if a slight amount of oil runs out when ATF temperature is between 86 Fahrenheit degree (30 Celsius degree) and 113 F deg (45 C deg) (caused by increase of oil level when heated). For warmer climates, 122 F deg (50 C deg).
4. Hang filled ATF reservoir VAG 1924 as high as possible.
5. Shift lever in "P" position, engine running at idle.
6. Place oil drip pan under transmission oil pan.
7. Remove ATF filler plug (at the bottom of the automatic gearbox you will find 2 threaded plugs on below surface. First (in front of the car) is for emptying, and second is for filling up.
8. With ATF temperature between 86 Fahrenheit degree (30 Celsius degree) and 113 F deg (45 C deg), for warmer climates, 122 F deg (50 C deg), a slight amount of oil will flow from filler hole when ATF level is correct.
9. If necessary drain or top off ATF to attain correct oil level. Top ATF with filler hook from VAG 1924 ATF reservoir. Insert VAG 1924 (tool) ATF reservoir filler hook into filler hole and top off until a slight amount of oil flows from filler hole.
NOTE: Fit filler hook into one of the oil deflector cap slots placed on the filler opening.
CAUTION: Do not press filler hook upward or oil deflector cap can be pushed off.
10. Reinstall ATF filler plug. Tightening torque is 80 Nm.

Please do rate my response. Thanks!

Scan computer and says im having random cylinder

Im assuming this be the 2.7 twin turbo? If so this has only got one coil pack instead of the individual ones for each cylinder? If so check all connections are good, none are green or corroded, if they are clean them with WD40. If this doesnt fix it I would assume coil. If ths engine has individual coils then possibly something more like crank sensor possibly an ecu fault. If there is a specialist audi garage near you i would take it there for them to try and diagnose it. They can quite hard to find problems with at times.

prematurely setting the abs to come on for no reason when your almost at a stop,,,,

2000 Audi S4 6 speed manual - when replacing

The plug on the bottom is for fluid removal, plug on side of the gearbox is for fill. You will need either a really long tube to fill from the top, or I use a siphon pump to fill from below. Fill til it comes out.

Is Audi guide belt or cam belt related to the sump

Timing belt needs to be replaced every 100000 km at the most . Do you know when it was replaced last ?
Did they remove the front pulley (The one on the crankshaft)?
The Timing belt and AUX belts are not related to the sump but they are related to the crankshaft pulley , Depending on the type of repair carried out they may have removed the pulley in order to replace the crankshaft front oil seal.If I was replacing a crankshaft oilseal due to oil leaking I would have fitted a new Timing belt as well as Tensioner , Idler/s , Water pump (if driven by timing belt) as well as the AUX belts as Oil can damage rubber .
Hope this makes sense to you ?
Looking forward to your reply

2000 Audi s4 has strong smell of gasoline

Pop the hood and check all the fueling lines, then check your gas tank and see if you just spilled some. Then check your exhaust pipes because you are probably running rich. You may need to change your spark plugs, or possibly a mass air flow sensor, or oxygen sensors. you should get either a vagcom to scan it or an OBD-II scanner.
