I had the same problem recently with a 2000 acura 3.2tl. I found the code on the bottom side of my hood. I read somewhere that it may be on the underside of the fuse box under the hood but it wasn't. There is a label on the underside of the hood just look for the 5 digit code that all the numbers are under 6 and that should be it, thats how mine was at least.

trying to replace a front headlight bulb on 2001 acura 3.2 TL

Look for the end of the wire retainer clip. Unhook it and lift it up. Remember not to touch the bulb. But if you do, just clean it with a bit of alcohol.

btw - Here's a bit of info from a previous post of mine...
The low beams consist of three parts. The bulb, inverter/ballast and the ignitor. The bulbs usually start to loose their color long before they burn out. The inverters/ballasts either go out after a while or take a while to start up.

Before you spend money on a new bulb, try swapping it with the one on the other side. You'll need a security torx screwdriver to get the covers off of the back of the lights. Don't touch the glass bulbs. If you do, just clean them with a bit of alcohol.

If the problem stays on that side, try swapping the ignitors. They're mounted inside the black covers.

If the problem is still on that side you've got a bad inverter. They're mounted on the bottom of the headlight assembly. You'll need to remove the front bumper and remove the headlight assembly to get to it. (I recommend you take pictures as you remove things so can put them back together correctly.)

i just want to clean my egr valve and hose in my 2000 acura tl.

Would like a diagram of the engine to know exact location. Which product should i use to clean the egr valve? I heard this is just as good as purchacing a new one, true? Also heard there is the hose that needs to be cleaned of carbon buildup. I'm somewhat of a newbe but would much rather do it myself. I love the car but it needs some work. Would appreciate your help!!!

I need to replace my front wheel bearings on my Acura 3.2 TL.

I need to replace my front wheel bearings and have to take them to a shop to be pressed in but have no clue what he needs or how to get it off. You need to take them the knuckle. This is what the brake calliper, the wheel studs, the upper and lower ball joints, and the axle half shaft all connect to. Start with the axle nut. It's pretty big and might have a cotter pin through it. I say that because it's the tightest bolt and you can use the brakes to hold it from just spinning the wheel. There is one castle nut per ball joint, should have a cotter pin through them, take them off and beat the ball joint out with a hammer, don't hit the stud or you'll never get the nut back on. Two bolts on the brake calliper. once you have all that off give the end of the axle a few whacks until it's free. Don't go pulling on it or you'll separate the CV joint in the half shaft.

Misfire in Cylinder 1,2,3,5,6 of my 2000 Acura Tl

While driving my car on freeway it started to misfire. I bought a OBD reader and it comes up with code P0301, P0302, P0303, P0305, P0306, P0300, and P1399. I checked coil packs and they appear ok. Not sure 5 would go out at once either. Front side of motor plugs seem to be white and no gas odor. Back 3 have gas residue. Sprayed soapy water on vacuum hoses to detect vaccum leak and no luck. Put fuel injection cleaner in gas tank and as of now no better results. TCS light also comes on? Any suggestions or ideas be greatly appreciated.

you may have a faulty crankshaft position sensor this is what controls the firing of the plugs. you may also have corrosion on the plug for the coil pack causing multiple misfires

I have a 2001 Acura 3.2 TL headlight goes on and off

I have a 2001 Acura 3.2 TL. My passenger headlight randomly works, it turns off for no reason when I am driving. Sometimes when it is not working I turn my lights on and off and it sometimes will come back on. It is not the bulb and I was told that the whole system would need to be replaced...$$$$. Any suggestions without spending over $1000 to fix it....is this a common problem???

As with Laurenson 538, I have the same problem with my 2001 CL.

Should this problem with the 2001 Acuras be a recall issue? I, too, have replaced the headlight assembly ($1,000 plus). The old one (sealed[?]) had moisture in it... the reported cause of the light burning out. Within a short period, the $1000 replacement had moisture in it and has just burned out again.

Now, at a different Acura agency, I'm told that the bulb needs another $1,000 replacement. When I asked about the warranty, I was advised 90 days was the warranty. When I asked if I was expected to spend $1,000 every 90 days to be able to drive the car, the rep got defensive.
Writing Acura resulted in a big Zero. Before buying a new Acura, one might inquire about the headlights. Since one can't drive without headlights, maybe Acuras should be reserved for daylight driving only! Have a backup car for night driving!

where is the thermostat in my 2000 acura

where is the thermostat in my 2000 acura

Okay...here ya go:

Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the cooling system into a suitable container.
  3. Locate the thermostat housing by following the upper radiator hose to the engine.
  4. Loosen the hose clamps then carefully detach the hose from the fitting.
If the hose is stuck, carefully use a pick to break the seal between the radiator hose and the housing. If the hose is deteriorated, replace it with a new one.
  1. Disconnect any sensors or switches that may interfere with the removal of the thermostat from the housing.

Note the installed position of the thermostat, then remove it

  1. Unfasten the retainers, then remove the thermostat housing.
Some coolant may leak out of the housing as the seal is broken.
  1. Remove the thermostat carefully noting how it's installed.
  2. Clean the mating surfaces of the thermostat housing.
Many thermostat housing's are made out of aluminum alloy. A plastic scraper is very effective and will not harm such metals.
To install:

A new gasket must be installed before installation

Install the thermostat with the air bleed valve at the top

  1. Install the new thermostat and gasket.
Install the thermostat with the jiggle pin facing up. This acts as an air bleed and must be at the top of the thermostat to operate properly.
  1. Install the thermostat housing, then tighten the bolts securely.
  2. Connect the radiator hose and tighten the hose clamps securely.
  3. Install any remaining components, then refill the cooling system.
  4. Start and run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature while checking for leaks.

2000 acura tl engine code PO132 what does it mean

2000 acura tl engine code PO132 what does it mean

Posted by on

Answer

  • Most Helpful of 2 Answers

DTC P0132 - O2 Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank1, Sensor1)
This involves the front oxygen sensor on Bank 1. This code indicates that the heated oxygen sensor reading is too high. In the case of Ford vehicles, that indicates the voltage at the sensor is over 1.5 volts. Other vehicles may be similar.

A code P0132 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
The oxygen sensor heater circuit is shorted out
The wiring to the sensor is broken / frayed (less likely)

Hope this helps and just keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa.
