Car will start then stall out
This is indicative of a fueling problem. It could be out of or very low on fuel. It could mean trash or water in the fuel line. If it is just flooded temporarily, you should ease the accelerator to the floor and try again. If it continues, it is likely a problem with fuel injection or fuel pump. That it starts briefly indicates that it is "firing" and then losing the fuel supply or "flooding out". There is a fuel filter in the gas line between the fuel injection assembly and the gas tank--under the hood. This is the least expensive and first thing I'd check; after removing it, blowing it out (preferably with canned air or an air compressor or air pump). A temporary fix might be to physically move the car back and forth to "jiggle" it, you could also knock around under the hood near the fuel line and fuel pump. This might get it to start in order to get you to a repair facility. If the engine actually is not starting at all , then I would say that it could even be part of the security system and that you are using the wrong key and/or need to reset the system by using the outside door handle and then using the correct key (often indicated by the silver emblem on the key vs. no emblem). Remember, you have to have "fire" (a spark from a spark plug), "fuel" (which is ignited by the spark), and air (oxygen to feed the fire). If it is getting fire to start, then it pretty much has to be either fuel or air. That it is starting at all, seems to indicate that it is getting SOME fuel. Not getting air could be caused by a clogged injector port (or with an older automobile, a clogged carburetor valve), which purpose is to supply air. I hope this gets you started.
