1998 Isuzu Trooper - Page 6 Questions & Answers
How much for lifters on a 1998 izusu trooper? And will that make you engine nock?
Lifters generally make a tick, tick, tick noise. If you have a low tone knock, you may have more severe issues, or what you may have is heavy carbon build-up on the pistons, contacting the cylinder head(s). What I suggest first is to use fuel injection cleaner and add it to the fuel tank a few times. You can go to your local part store and see what other products they have, such as "Seafoam," to assist in carbon removal. Extreme conditions may actually require the removal of the cylinder head(s) to gain access to the top of the pistons to physically scrape the carbon from them.

Maybe the battery has dead cells, how old is the battery? There most likely is a manufactures warranty and may be replaced for free. You can also bring the battery in somewhere (like Autozone, Valvoline Oil Change, pretty much any car part store) and they can test the battery for you. Also make sure the connections are tight and no corrosion on the battery itself. I know I have a battery tester and it will tell you the health of the battery, which is what the auto part stores can also do, then you can go from there.

Using the new bearings, replace the old ones, tapping them into place. It doesn't matter which one you install first.
- 8
Pack with grease when they are in place. Install new seal after the bearings are packed with grease.
- 9
Re-install the rotors into car; put brakes back on; replace tires; You're ready to go!

as long as the trans does not slip while shifting gears, you may need a torque convertor. you may be able to minimize the shudder by changing the fluid and filter, but that may open a can of worms causing the trans to go bad.

Just look at your rego label 17 characters. But if you need the plate I think it is in the engine bay on the passanger side.
I have 1998 Isuzu Trooper and my battery keeps
No, I don't know about a fuse, but something is running, like the fuel pump, when you shut it down crawl underneath and listen for a hum, They have been know to stick in the on position, Make sure it is quiet in the shop or garage or do it at night outside with no traffic, If it is running, replace, in the meantime, disconnect the battery terminal when it is off. Too many drains on the battery and it will be shot. If it is not the fuel pump, put an ear on other areas of the truck and see if you hear something running, stuck on, buzzing, humming. Hope this helps.
Replace alternator and still not charging
Possible you have an old battery with maybe a dead cell? I would have it tested.
Make sure all battery and alternator connections are clean and tight. A loose or poor connection can cause no charging. Check all your underhood fuses, too.
Good luck.
