Bad lifter can cause poor idle. Make sure oil is new and full and that oil pressure is good. If all that is good and tapping continues, replace bad lifters.

Check to see are the brake lights going off. If not, it's still in overdrive and killing the engine by dragging it down too low at stops. The explosions are caused by the fuel mixture being set too lean.

there is no relay, is it fun to ask for things not there? not for us. why not ask how to diagnose it and not play guessing games. the cruise controls has many inputs and outputs and no relays. not one. and the a/t car works different than the M:T stick trans. it monitors speed. (speed vss speed sensor) 2 fues 3 lamps and output servo for Throttle,

The resistor in within a couple of inches from the blower motor. Yours will have probably 4 wires going to it. It is mount to the air box.

You fried the coil drivers , If you have B+ voltage going into those coils an they are new coils ,there is no control ! You have three wires to each coil ,one is B+ voltage ,one goes to what the wiring diagram calls a coil driver an the other looks like a ground symbol an says common chamber. You should be able to test for control with a test light. Go on youtube an watch a few scanner Danner videos on testing electronic ignition systems .

You may have a bad capacitor. Does it humm or vibrate very low?

Is there an immobiliser fitted to the vehicle that the new key needs to be programmed to?

got this.?> The 1996 Trooper and Rodeo models were available with a shift-on-the-fly system, SOF which incorporates an assembly mounted on the left-hand side of the front axle unit. the shift-on-the-fly unit includes a housing, an actuator assembly and various Vacuum Switching Valves (VSV). here it is, SOF. if the right switch is 12vdc on both pins then the relay closes, does it? if it closed the 2 VSV both go HOT,12v. brown-blk wire. do they? the left switch below is only for the silly dash light. then there is the vacuum side.... more details....

x2 why not post the symptoms, and not guess post those and we can do simple tests. like is the clutch fluid dropping day by day? the slave fails first. on all hydra. actuated clutches. the loss of fluid happens as you drive, and UNSEEN. time or money? time is precious. replace both mC and slave. lots of time, no cash? see if MC leaks down either side of fire wall No leaks, slave is bad. 99% IN most cases both are bad. (or one is totally bad and other near that) yes, it is an analog word. good bad, weak, etc. here , ill look yours for you. i did, USA data, so.... some have hydraulic and others cable so why not just look, first. really looking is always first. so you can ask , perfect questions. now my 2nd questions (cable, the hydra version does #1 automatically) 1: adjust cable slack 2: adjust pedal height, 3: adjust clutch switch. there are 3 adjustments, id bet you dont know that. its in the FSM if you read it (alldata.com) now the red arrow.
