Check fuses first . Then go under and clean a spot on the gas tank that you can touch or hold a bare wire from the tank to a clean ground on the frame. have someone turn the key on to see if the gauge works with the wire on there . If it does you have a bad ground , if not you might have to drop the tank to look further. have a look at any wires you can find that go to it too.You might find a broken one . Chuck

If the bare glass is needed to be replaced, there should be 4 screws. 2 on each side at the front and rear that needs to be removed. Should be fairly easy to access and remove from the inside with the roof closed.

the VTM-4 relates to torque management for the 4 wheel drive / all wheel drive part of the transmission. I have had people tell me more than once that that VTM-4 issue went away after having the cylinder head valves adjusted. A little google search may back this up.

Most time it is recommended to replace both at the same time.

have you checked door rubber ? Or if in boot(trunk) the boot (trunk) rubber.

try removing fuses on passenger side kick panel and cleaning the contacts and reinserting for problematic issues, suggest duing to all fuses, mdx 2001 has known issue with fuses becomming corroded or dirty without actual evidence, 90% of the time removing the fuse and reinserting after cleaning or even repeatedly removing and inserting will solve many issues on that year of the mdx, if problem persists, suspect faulty switch or modules.

Fuses are under the steering wheel against the left side of the car.

Hi,yes there is is your answer the fuses are there to isalate the part that is falty so as not to couse aney more damidge,so when a fues is falty you need to know why its blown. hope this was some help.

Check for 12Vdc at the bulb socket. If its there the bulb is bad, the socket is bad (making no/poor contact with the bulb), or you have a bad ground. If its not there, trace the circuit back until you find 12V the break in the circuit will be between the last 2 point you checked.

Check for broken engine or transmission mounts and damaged drive shaft joints.

could be a fault in the #3 injector wiring, with the engine running back probe the wiring at the injector with a led trouble light it should glow at each pulse. a pulse can be felt by holding the injector if you have no light. compare with # I&2.
