How do I change the thermostat on a 2006 Buick lucerne?

follow the top radiator hose to the engine , the thermostat will be housed in a casing that the top hose joins to , the housing will have 2-3 bolts that need to be removed to gain acces to the thermostat, when fitting new thermostat ensure it is fitted the correct way round , take a picture of the old one before removal then you can't go wrong , ensure you have a new gasket to fit as well and make sure the two faces of the housing are completely clean of the old gasket material as otherwise you will get a leak , hope this helps

Why car wont pick up speed when i get to 40mph then jerks and pick up speed

Does it down shift appropriately when accelerating? Normally when you stomp on the gas while in a high gear (travelling at 40mph), the transmission will downshift to a lower gear giving the car much more torque. This can cause the car to jolt or jerk forward and accelerate suddenly. If this is way off base and you\'re experiencing something else, please let me know

How do I check transmission fluid on a 2006 buick lucerne

I believe it has no dipstick, just a transmission check plug. This should be checked by a trained professional because it involves jacking the car up (making sure it's perfectly level) and removing the transmission check plug. If the fluid is dripping, it's full. If it doesn't, you add fluid through the top red cap until it starts dripping and reinstall plug.

No start no crank

U0073 - Definition: Control Module Communication Bus "A" Off
U0140 - Definition: Lost Communication With Body Control Module

What needs to happen is the cluster can be commanded to sweep gages using the GM Tech 2 scan tool. Keep in mind that the gage testing and any programming needs to be done at a GM dealer using the GM Tech 2 scan tool. If they respond correctly to that command that means the gages and wiring to the gages is fine and the part(s) responsible for sending info to the gage is inaccurate. If they don't sweep ok then suspect a faulty cluster. To do the sweep test it needs to go to a GM dealer though. The gages not being accurate is common on the older year trucks and a cluster is the fix (along with programming the new cluster using GM software).

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern: Some customers may complain of one of the following symptoms:
• Door locks cycle while driving
• Intermittent No Start
• Service Stabilitrak DIC message
• Speedometer and tachometer freeze while driving

Along with these complaints DTC U0140 00 and/or U0073 71 may be stored as a history code in any GM LAN High Speed module.

If the data circuits (2500 & 2501) have experienced an "intermittent" short to ground or short to each other "2 times" within a period of less than 1 second and then go back to normal, the BCM may appear to be "off-line" on the high speed buss. This intermittent scenario should not cause other modules to lose communication, only the BCM. If this situation happens, the BCM will not start communicating with other modules again until the key is out of the ignition and the BCM has timed out (approximately 20 minutes).

Typically the customers complaint will be intermittent and usually occur when driving over bumps/rough roads.

Recommendation/Instructions:
If DTC U0140 00 or U0073 71 is set only as a HISTORY code in any of the high speed modules, refer to "Testing for Electrical Intermittents" in the service manual to reset the DTC and diagnose the location of the fault.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

Driver side headlight is out, but bulb and fuse is

Hi Calvin, I wrote an answer but I don't know if it posted. I had the same problem except with the right side. If you tried to pull apart the fuse panel under the hood, you may have disconnected the 2 halves. Thats what I did and had to take it to an car electronics shop to have it traced for big $$. Once they got it working having done all the work to get to the headlights, I replaced all the bulbs so I don't have to do it again.

The front motor mount has gone on our 2006 Buick Lucerne, also their is a bar on the right side of motor at the top . It is attached to the motor and goes back by firewall.is this a motor mount as we

Anything attaching a moter to the body "should be a moter mount" and have a rubber dampener for vibrations. As for replacement It is usualy done by jacking up under the moter with a floor jack and a good size block of wood to distribute the weight to a larger area. Once it is supported you can release the bolts and slip out the old mount to replace it. Hope this helps.

Location of windshield washer pump on 2006 buick lucerne

The pump is located on the passenger side below the jug that holds the fluid. Separate the wheel well anchors. I bought a special tool that helps immensely it is like a fork that gets on each side of the plastic rivet and is bent to pry them up. You also need to take some off the splash guard. Once you see it, it is very very easy to take out. Hope you don't have a full jug because it will empty. Cost about $14.00 at RockAuto.com

Replace 2006 buick lucerne passenger headlight

I have replaced headlights on my 2006 Lucerne. I tried the cheater ways but there was no getting past taking the front end off. The front end is held together with plastic rivets (5ZLY9) from Grainger there are three screws 10mm that hold the lights in and two screws that hold the bumper up besides the rivets. Take it all off and the bumper comes off exposing the headlights. I replaced ALL the bulbs since there was so much work involved.
