The process of replacing front
You will need to remove the transmission. Disconnect the battery. Remove the starter. You may have to remove or drop the exhaust from the exhaust manifolds to clear the tranny . Remove the front and rear drive lines. disconnect the transmission fluid lines at the transmission. Remove the lower inspection cover that will expose the torque converter and the flex plate or flywheel. Rotate the converter and remove the bolts that secure it to the flex plate. Disconnect the linkage to the transmission and the transfer case and pull it up and out of the way. Remove the rear transmission mount and bolts and crossbrace the mount is secured too. Be sure to support the the transmission before removing the transmission mount. Place a transmission jack under the transmission and secure it to the jack with a chain or nylon ratchet strap. remove the remaining bell housing bolts and pull back on the tranny gently and you will need to lower it as you roll it back to clear the input shaft. Be sure to not let the converter fall out the front as you lower the tranny. When you have it clear from the vehicle you can remove the converter. Then you can use a seal remover or a flat bladed screwdriver to pierce the edge of the seal and gently remove the old seal. Install the new seal and install in the reverse order you removed everything. You might want to drain the torque converter before you lower the tranny.(YOU WILL SEE A PLUG ON THE CONVERTER THAT YOU CAN REMOVE TO DRAIN IT) It will make it much lighter to manipulate. Also when you place the converter back onto the input shaft be sure to seat the converter. It will slide on then you must rotate the converter to to get it to line up with the front pump coupler and it will seat the rest of the way. If you do not do this you will ruin the front pump when you start the vehicle. And be sure to refill the tranny when you start it again. You will loose around 5 quarts when you drain theconverter. This is a simple process for an experienced person, but not for a beginner. If you need help ask. Don't do what you don't know how to accomplish. You have your personal safety to consider here. You will need quite a few tools also. Good luck. I hope this helps give you some type of guidance.
Neither right nor left turn
If neither side works when you press the lever, it is going to be either the switch itself, a flasher or a fuse. If one side worked and one side didn't, then I would say it was a blown bulb. Start with the fuse first, it is easiest and cheapest to replace.
How do i get the
is this a auto or manual ? if manual then it takes patience as the pilot bearing is a very close precision fit and has to be damn near exact. if auto, make sure the torque converter is properly installed and seated all the way in trans. I always use a floor jack under harmonic balancer to tilt motor down and to secure engine movement as well as a floor jack under trans on piece of plywood 1 foot square so not to damage trans pan. lift trans align pilot pins and get bolt or two started. just take your time and it will go providing these are the proper items being put together
Need to know location of
Without knowing the model and year, I can only give you a generalized guess. Fuel cut-off switches are generally found in the rear of the vehicle, inside the trunk. Generally located behind one of the side trim panels.
My bronco2 wont start. Just
starter if engine wont crank....otherwise if it turns over but no start then it could be electrical maybe ignition module.if starter no work tap with hammer while trying to start they get hung up or on a flat spot an that usually jars them free...try electrical first pull one spark plug and see if when you trun it over the spark jumps the plug if it does then it is a fuel problem...dont hold spark plug wire position it to lay away fro everything...nobody likes gettin shocked no matter how funny it is after.....
Starter will engage momentarily and
It is possible that you badaged the teeth on the bendiz or worse on the flywheel. Remove the starter and inspect the teeth on the bendix, if they are damaged then replace the starter also make sure that there was not a shim that got lost when the bolt fell out. When working under a vehicle ALWAYS use Jackstands dont rely on the jack to support the weight of the vehicle.
O.k firsty thank you 4
You are in trouble, expect a visit from the police soon. Actually the thing is over 20 years old and you need to do the clutch, replace all the parts and resurface the flywheel. Every part on the car will fail with age and use, most likely someone did this 10 years ago or so and now it is due again. As you can most likely buy a late 90s Explorer for the same amount you are about to spend on a clutch, you may want to just upgrade vehicles a decade, however a late 90s one will be ready for a clutch itself so try and find one which has already had that done.
I need detailed instructions on
It is a copyright infringement to give info copied from a book ,unless you pay for it...I can tell you the fnt end of truck needs to be jacked up so you have plenty of room for repair.also if fluids are drained from trans and transfer case they will be able to handle better...
remove fnt and rear drive shafts and trans shift linkage . also the transfer case linkage . the speedo cable and wirig to trans will need to come off....now support the trans with a floorjack and remove the crossmember support... let the jack down a little to acess to top trans to engine bolts. thenremove all bolt except 2 ...one on each side take the bolts out of clutch slave cylinder and move away from your work...reposition jack to the center of trns and remove trans carfully.one hand on trans tail shaft and one on the jack handle. lower trans assembly to the ground after you have cleared the clutch..now follow instructions in new clutch and reinstall ...
Engine oil dipstick tube has
The dipstick tube should go back in right above the oil pan flange. If its a front wheel drive it will be in the front of the motor a little left of center in the block above oil pan flange.Trucks are in the same place but vary on which side its located on.
Heat and A/C doesn't blow
The first thing to do is check the fuse. The fuse must be in the main fuse box. The position of the fuses is normally marked on the inside of the fuse box cover and also in the owner's handbook. If you don't come right with these, work your way through the fuses looking for a blown one. To ease your search the fan fuse it should be around 20 to 30 amps.
I would like to know
look under the hood at the firewall and you will see a 60 pin connector that is the ECM, you did not give the year so i don't know wich way the ECM comes out some had a panel under the hood that you removed and slid the ECM out others you have to remove the 60 pin and then go under the dash and remove a mount bolt and slide the ECM out from under the dash.
New distributor cap wires &
a timing issue use a timing light to check the timing and check the points gap and condition if it has points.
