STARTER DEAD MEANS NO CRANK???????????? CRANKS FAST BUT DOES NOT START, MEANS JUST THAT.? OR cranks then STARTS AND STALLS.? I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND THE END OF LINE 3 ABOVE. WE CAN NOT HEAR YOUR STARTER SPIN FAST, YOU MUST SAY IT AND TYPE IT. OK. THE IDLE CONTROLS ARE FAILING (IAC VALVE) OR you never got tune up in 20 years? and the spark plugs are shot. as expected 100% that. IF BY CHANCES IT DOES CRANK FAST AND WILL NOT START UsE 5% right foot throttle to start the engine, if the starter is dead, shift to neutral and crank that way the users guide (free) tells how. a starter can be dead silent or clicks or chatters or goes GRRRRRRGVRRRRRR that load cranking sound. what does your starter do in line 3 , hot started.

mine only has 34kms, the belts cracked, its only 19.00$

Have you checked your spark plugs or coil packs above them?

daughter drove tracker 50 miles to lake cabin and car stalled as she came into driveway, car turns over but no fireing could this be electronic fuel pump or what fuse or what?

The relay is easier to change, I would try it first, unless you get someone with an electric meter and a lot of smarts to check it out first. The relay should be in a black plastic box under the hood of the car, and may very well be labelled. If a new relay does not fix it, you may be looking at a new "multi-switch" on the steering column. That requires taking the steering column apart to change it. God bless your efforts.

Check or have someone to check the voltage to the pump. If you have voltage then would change the filter.

Not sure why you are thinking camshaft position... I am thinking maybe a relay is giving up. Did you check for fuel pressure and spark after the stall?

Hello David Sharp, I don't think you are as persecuted as you think... Your first impression... "Not likely all 4 at the same time"... I think was CORRECT. I would put a few more miles on the car... I suspect they will all (4) check back in because OXYGEN SENSORS do their jobs... They sense problems. In the mean-time... become more familiar with the cost and availability of your EXHAUST SYSTEM. JUST my opinion... 2001 Chevy Tracker 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic My 4 wheel drive stop working on my 2001 ZR2 chevrolet Tracker. It has a shifter on the floor and when it is put into 4 hi or 4 lo. the vehicle does not change from two wheel drive into 4. The 4x4 Dash light indicator stop coming on. What should I check? HI lisasmith566 IT is not a fuse problem .
the problem is your the CD part of the radio
must likely the cd is stock or more likely the cd drive motor is defective .
FIRST try pushing eject on radio and see CD comes out if not you need a new radio .
