A clicking sound when accelerating or
If it is front wheel drive, it may be the C-V axle joints . Does it get louder when you turn? If so you may need to grease them .Depending on the make , there should be a grease fitting. If it keeps doing it they need to be replaced . You don't want them to break while you are driving.
Clutch slipping on 2004 350z roadster
This is a Hydrolic System ,thus there is no Adjustment for what you discribe, You will need a New Clutch Assemble. I Recomend replacing ALL Clutch Parts while Trans is out. Uncluding All the Parts Listed Reliece Bearing, Clutch Disc, Pressure plate,And Renew Slave Cylinder FLUID.
Clutch slipping
A clutch is usually adjusted from underneath the car if it's a mechanical clutch.
Your comment that there is very little play at the top indicates an improperly adjusted clutch. You should have about 1/2 - 3/4 inch of play before feeling the clutch in the pedal.
