How do i reset po148

Are you asking how to fix the problem or just how to clear the code?To Fix:P0148 is a 'Fuel Delivery Error' - generaly means you are not getting enough fuel flow/pressure to the rails. This can be caused by the fuel pump, fuel filter, or fuel pressure regulator. You need to determine the faulty component by testing with a fuel pressure gauge and replace as necessary. To Reset:This generally requires a scan tool. Most shops will reset your codes for little/no cost. Some parts stores also have readers capable of resetting codes.Hope this was helpful. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.Jeff

A 2005 ford f250 with appox 80 thousand miles.

Have you checked your fuel pump? Or the filter, I had a 04 , where the filter would clog and make it run bad, i would shut it off and the pressure would release and move whatever was there, I would then run fine for a while and repeat again. I changed the filter and it was fine. I also had a chevy with a bad fuel pump that would work great most of the time but not so great other times? Replaced it and solved the problem!

2005 F 250 6.0:

Keep cranking, you have starved the system of fuel. Once the air is out it will start. Be careful not to run the starter too long at a time it will over heat and ruin it.

F-250 diesels blowing white smoak? Why?

More than likely your loosing fuel pressure, you may need a new under hood fuel filter and the low pressure pump located on the frame rail on the driver side of the truck. The ICP sensor (Injector Control Pressure Switch) could also be bad and cause this. But normally if your blowing white smoak and your loosing power at the same time I would say fuel pressure. But if your not loosing power and just have white smoak I say ICP sensor. Also check your engine oil, if its low or extremely dirty, this can cause this also. It uses the oil pressure to run the ICP sensor to control the injectors.

Slow accelleration from a stop

Black Smoke
This is due to a air to fuel ratio imbalance, either the fuel system is delivering too much fuel into the engine or there is not enough clean air (oxygen ) a few things to look for :
  • Faulty injectors (injectors need attention at about 100.000 to 120 000 miles)
  • Faulty injector pump
  • Dirty air cleaner
  • Turbocharger or intercooler faulty
  • Problems within cylinder head, valves clogged up due to faulty EGR (exhaust gas recycling unit)

check for low refrigerant first anyway.

Sometimes it's the electric clutch on the front of the compressor starting to go. You usually have to pull compressor off to change it. Have an a/c shop check it.
