Sounds like a faulty crank sensor. Can also be caused by a faulty cam sensor.

yikes, some comments on youtube says you need to pull the engine out!

Check for blown fuse under dash and under hood , make sure new switch is adjusted to the clutch pedal ,make sure the connecter to new switch is not damaged .

I have a chevy c3500 with a 6.5 turbo diesel, the times that it has happened

to me was because of a dirty fuel filter or water, most diesel have a bleed off

valve to dissipate any accesss water in the fuel line, on my truck is located

on the right front side of the engine . you bleed it off when the engine is

turned off. good luck

it can be your relay that has failed ,or a broken wire to the relay.

It is easily done..There aren't that many buttons..Apparently the indicator is worn off the button....Set parking brake,start truck and put it into neutral...mash each button one at a time slowly after you mash the 4 wheel drive button you will see an orange light in your dash gauge area near the bottom light up and tell you 4wheel drive has been engaged....

Did you replace the glow plugs or intake heater? Very bad to use ether.

I'm going to assume the smell was coming from the exhaust.Sulfur smell is often caused by excess sulfur in gasoline or a problem with the emissions system on the car. If the check engine light is not on, it could be the brand of gas you were burning at the time.

Check for loose or cut cables on the back of your truck's OBDII connector, that could be causing a lost signal.
