Door locks won't work with remote or switch
If you are not hearing any clicking sounds at all, pull off your door panel and find the two-wire lead that goes to a connector that ends up at the door lock actuator. This is not that hard, generally 4 screws at most, lift up and it's off. Determine the polarity of the wires by metering and then energize the positive wire with a 12v source (A battery charger will sometimes work, however since it is a filtered box wave, it may not energize the solenoid that actuates the lock mechanism). if the lock now works, you have a switch problem. With patience, most of these switches can be disassembled and cleaned up to function.

Try looking under the hood. You may need to get a manual or research how to remove the steering to fix the problem. Sounds like a pin came loose of is worn. Also you did not mention the year.

Thermostat location

1988 ford van transmission suddenly slipping
Check your fluid level. Then for physically taking action, some models have adjustable transmission bands inside the trans. These may be reached inside the trans when changing the screen filters or cleaning them. Some models have external adjusters. Typically involving tightening the bands to a certain torque amount and then backing off the adjuster a specified number of turns. There are some chemical additives of questionable value claiming to fix these problems. I would go to 3 places for estimates. Some transmissions have no adjustments and your trans may be on its last leg. Used transmissions out of a wreck or a Rebuild may be options.
Temperature sensor
simple solution try another sensor or measure the temp when the gauge reads hot and compare
Starts but bogs out
check that the floats needle/seats are not blocked. check main jets for blockage. I would be checking the carby as carbys left standing for a period of time build up corrosion inside and tend to have blockage problems until cleaned out.

Find the reason for the fault in the alternator. Visually inspect the drive belt and check the belt tension. Pulleys do not normally rear out unless they have broken flanges./ Have the alternator output check by an auto electrician. before you spend big dollars
