Try shifting to nuetral at stop signs for now. Will it keep running in gear with you foot on the brake? How about with the parking brake? You may have a simple vacuum leak at the brake booster.

Transmission not shifting

Hello

The engine and the automatic transmission in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related problems.

Truck starts and run fine for 3-5 minutes and stop will start back up for another 3-4 minutes and stops again

It would be nice to know WHICH ENGINE your truck is equipped with...especially since you want information about your engine....With that said, since it is a 1992, I would say that the most likely cause of your problem is a defective TFI module.

My 92 f250 will not turn over with key, but will if you jump relay

The problem may be the actual ignition cylinder in the steering column.

How do you replace the front breaks on a 1992 ford f250 custom??

take off the wheels one or two at a time,un-pin the middle swivel device that the rim slides over,if there is none then just pull the rim off.Now on the caliper is a retractable pin that is triangle shaped about 3-4 inches long. This pin is what holds the caliper and the pad together! Also dont forget to remove the bolts that hold the calipers in place! Now you should be good, whatever you do,don't remove the brake lines!Good luck, hope this helps!-CB
